Toyota motors always tries to develop itself and keep pace with environment so in the

recent period due to climate change and the surrounding environment

Toyota tries to launch a new line of Hydrogen vehicles

A hydrogen vehicle: is a vehicle that uses hydrogen fuel for motive power. Hydrogen
vehicles include hydrogen-fueled space rockets, as well as ships and aircraft. Power is
generated by converting the chemical energy of hydrogen to mechanical energy, either
by reacting hydrogen with oxygen in a fuel cell to power electric motors or, less
commonly, by burning hydrogen in an internal combustion engine

it will change the concept of clean energy and it including many numbers of advantages:

 In the universe, hydrogen is the most abundant element, and apart from the
challenges associated with its extraction from water, it is a uniquely abundant
and renewable source of energy, which is perfect for our future zero-carbon
needs. So, it is renewable and readily available. It is also a clean and flexible
energy source to support zero-carbon energy strategies.

 Hydrogen is more energy-efficient and powerful than fossil fuels. As the

technology provides a high-density source of energy with good energy efficiency,
by weight, hydrogen has the highest energy content of any common fuel.

 As compared to any other energy source, it is highly efficient, including various

green energy solutions with almost zero emissions.

 Its carbon footprint is reduced and its charge time is extremely fast. Hydrogen
fuel cells do not release greenhouse gases, that is, they don't have a carbon
footprint on using them. Also, the charge time for hydrogen fuel cell power units
is extremely fast, just like that for conventional internal combustion engine
vehicles, and also much faster as compared to tobattery-powered electric
vehicles.

 Hydrogen fuel cells do not produce noise pollution and also no visual pollution.

 It is an ideal fuel to use in remote areas as the availability of hydrogen via local
generation and storage could prove to be an alternative to diesel-based power
and heating in remote areas. It also reduces the need to transport fuel and
improves the lives of people living in distant regions by offering a non-polluting
fuel that is obtained from a readily-available natural resource.

 These cells offer greater efficiencies with regard to usage times, and as the
technology advances, they will be able to provide energy for a range of stationary
and mobile applications.

 It will also help in reducing the dependency of a country on fossil fuels, which will
further help in democratizing energy and power supplies across the world
Toyota company's ultimate goal is to preserve the environment, climate change,
and reduce pollution that has harmed millions of people and animals, in addition
to competing with international companies to perpetuate the name of Kia.
Toyota Competitors
There are several brands in the market which are competing for the same set of
customers.
Ford

Ford Motors, Perhaps the most famous American car company, was founded in
1903 by Henry Ford, the man who revolutionized the production and distribution
of automobiles. During the early 1900s, the process of assembling a car was too
complex and required a lot of people to work and get one done. Henry Ford
innovatively created factory lines so that the car would go in one side and come
out the other completely finished, this process revolutionized how cars were
made.

Ford is one of America’s most beloved car brands and has made a total revenue
of US$155.9 billion in 2019. The American company holds 12th place on the
Fortune 500 list. Ford employs around 190,000 employees and has a production
output of 5.5 million vehicles yearly.

Ford has always been associated with big, strong and sturdy cars and trucks.
Their reputation and quality when it comes to that demographic are extremely
commendable and they take a win with this one. However Toyota wins in a lot of
aspects when it comes to medium and small size cars, Toyota easily outperforms
Ford

Volkswagen

The German automaker was founded in 1937 by the German Labour Front which
was a nazi organization. In 2019, Volkswagen earned a total revenue of US$252
billion, 40 percent of which came from China. The German automaker has a
workforce of 304,000 employees and over 7,700 dealerships worldwide.

Volkswagen has always had a good reputation for cars, and it has kept it years
since. What has kept the German Beatle manufacturer one of the best brands in
the world is that they produce cars that speak for themselves. It’s very common
for most consumers to have fuzzy opinions about Volkswagens but when they
drive one they leave with a positive experience.

The German company is not considered a luxury brand by most, but for the
consumers who want an esteemed vehicle whose performance and quality does
not disappoint, Volkswagen is the way to go. Toyota’s strategy against this has
always been targeting the most affordable market.
Hyundai

Founded in 1967 by Chung Ju-yung as a car company, the South Korean

multinational conglomerate has expanded into different industries and now owns
numerous subsidiaries. The Hyundai Motor Group was formed only recently in
2000 when car company giant Kia Motors was purchased by Hyundai.

As of 2019, Hyundai has made a total revenue of US$224 billion in sales and
employs a large workforce of 262,000 employees. The South Korean company
was also the third-largest vehicle manufacturer by production volume in 2017
with a production output of 7.2 million vehicles.

Hyundai’s main enemy has always been the public’s misconception about their
vehicles, contrary to popular belief the South Korean giant has made tons of
great cars with statistics and tests to reinforce the quality of their vehicles. Toyota
on the other hand has decades of good stories and an esteemed reputation,
making consumers more likely to purchase their vehicles.

General Motors

General Motors is an American multinational corporation and is one of Toyota’s

biggest rivals. The American company is the largest automobile manufacturer in
America and fourth-largest in the world. General Motors currently holds the 13th
rank on the Fortune 500 list for the highest revenue.

The American company manufactured and distributed around 6.5 million vehicles
in 2017, 4 million vehicles behind Toyota. If you count the vehicles produced
along with their subsidiaries their number rises up to 9.3 million. General Motors
is not only one of the best car brands in America, but it also owns a group of
other brands that are automakers.

General Motors and Toyota both have plans in expanding and growing their
businesses in newer and farther locations. However, General Motors is still a few
years behind Toyota’s capability.
Nissan

The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer was founded in 1933 by

Masujiro Hashimoto, who at the time named the company “Kaishinsha Motor Car
Works”. Nissan holds the 6th place on the list of largest manufacturers by
production as of 2017 with over 5.7 million vehicles.

The 138,000 employee-driven company generated a revenue of US$100 billion

in 2019. Nissan is one of the oldest Japanese brands that have made a name for
themselves in every household. There’s nothing bad you can say about Nissan,
and not enough good things to say as well, the Japanese brand has continually
kept a reputable and high-quality company for decades.

Nissan’s niche has always been their small SUV cars, yet despite that they have
always produced quality cars that hold their own as one of the legendary car
companies in the world. Toyota however has the advantage of having so much
variety and range of vehicles that it’s easier to find what you want in their
collection.

Car : Hyundai Nexo
Air filtiration
Nexo is equipped with an advanced air filtration system that removes 100% of
harmful PM2.5 particulate matter from polluted air using a three-step filtration
process.
• fuel
The fuel is hydrogen gas stored in pressurized tanks. It reacts with atmospheric
oxygen to produce electrical energy and water.
features
• The Hyundai Nexo Blue has an EPA-rated range of 380 miles (611 km).
The Nexo Limited has a driving range of 570 km versus 470 km for the Tucson
FCEV. The car features three fuel tanks with a total capacity of 156 liters and 6.3
kg, compared to 140 liters and 5.6 kg for the previous model.
• And there are plenty of benefits that come in the form of a lighter body,
more powerful drivetrain, and higher driving range. The Nexo has an electric
motor rated at 163hp and 400Nm, versus 135hp and 300Nm for the Tucson
FCEV.

• Nexo was released in South Korea in March 2018. Nexo fuel cell
components come with a warranty of 10 years or 160,000 km. [7] In October
2020, South Korea sales exceeded 10,000 vehicles with 727 vehicles sold in
2018, 4,194 vehicles sold in 2019 and 5,097 vehicles as of October 2020.
• The first Nexo went on sale in the US in December 2018. Nexo was
previously revealed to media in October 2018 to only be available in California by
the end of 2018. Nexo was released in the UK in March 2019. Nexo was
released in Australia in March 2021 based on Special request

• The Nexo also gets new Hyundai assist systems like Blind Spot Monitor,
Lane Keeping Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Using the Surround View
Monitors, the Blind Spot Monitor provides the driver with a clear view from both
sides and the rear of the vehicle to facilitate safer lane change maneuver.
Hyundai claims to be the first automaker to incorporate such technology.

• Lane Following System, as the name suggests, helps the vehicle maintain
its lane independently by detecting lane markings or road edges and
automatically giving light steering inputs to be in the center of the lane.

• Highway Assist monitors the driving environment using sensors and can
automatically adjust vehicle speed to maintain safe driving. Hyundai has also
integrated a remote parking assistant into the Nexo, which can park and retrieve
the vehicle independently.

Now we will start talking about the strengths of our new car, which is (Toyota
Mirai).
1. Our first strength: environmental and health benefits
• As our car relies on hydrogen energy, it is a clean and flexible energy
source to support our energy strategies that aim for a carbon-free world.
• Hydrogen fuel cells provide an inherently clean energy source, with no
harmful environmental impact during operation as the by-products are simply
heat and water. Unlike biofuels or hydropower, hydrogen production does not
require vast tracts of land. In fact, NASA is even working on using hydrogen as a
resource with the water produced as a by-product used as drinking water for
astronauts. This shows that hydrogen fuel cells are a non-toxic fuel source and
thus outperform coal, natural gas and nuclear energy which are all either
dangerous or difficult to obtain. Hydrogen production, storage and utilization will
play an important role in driving the further development of renewable energy, by
balancing intermittent supply methods with challenging end-user requirements,
and avoiding the need for large early investments to develop grid infrastructure.
• Hydrogen cars do not produce any harmful emissions on the road, but
unlike electric cars that take a long time to recharge, hydrogen cars can be
refilled just as quickly as petrol or diesel.

2 And our second strength is distances

• The 2021 Toyota Mirai has been driven 845 miles on a single tank longer
than hydrogen, setting a Guinness World Record for the distance a fuel cell
vehicle can travel without refueling. However, this record comes with some
caveats.
• Where the car was going in rush-hour traffic—a tactic that would make it
possible to go very slowly, helps increase the Mirai's range. He also drove it
mainly in loops around Southern California rather than a point-to-point ride. The
record attempt took place on August 23 and 24, 2021, covering 473 miles on the
first day and 372 miles on the second, according to Toyota.
• The team used hypermiling techniques, such as closing attachments and
hyper-inflated tires, to increase range, so this was far from a typical driving style,
and not everything worked out in the real world.
• According to the EPA, the Mirai does 402 miles per tank in XLE form, or
357 miles in Limited form, with the LE achieving better efficiency than the Honda
Clarity. Ordinary drivers wouldn't see anything close to Toyota's results—
equivalent to more than double the EPA-rated range—under normal conditions.
• However, this is impressive as a one-time achievement. Whereas, the
Mirai achieved 152 mpg and used only 12.4 pounds of hydrogen to cover the
distance. With a gallon of gasoline it weighs about 6.3 pounds, less than two
gallons of gas—or, on a weight basis, that's more than 420 mpg. As a large,
luxury sedan, the Mirai weighs 4,255 pounds—much less than its battery electric
sedan counterpart.
• The Mirai also cleans the air while you're driving - creating "zero
emissions".
3 Support : In order to show our support for the environment and our car,
we decided to support our customers by

• Make it easy to embrace sustainability. The Mirai comes with $15,000 or 6

years, whichever comes first, to buy free fuel and $15,000 or 3 years, whichever
comes first, free fuel to lease. After your purchase, we'll provide you with a fuel
card, so all you have to do is swipe to start filling up.

4 And the fourth point is saving time:

• No clogging, just pumping
• Where Toyota mirai hydrogen-powered do not need to be charged like an
electric car. You refuel them with hydrogen gas, and it's pumped in the same
safe and convenient way you would in conventional gasoline or diesel cars.
Filling the tank takes the same amount of time as well, between 3-5 minutes for a
full tub.
• There are more than 100 hydrogen refueling stations operating in Europe
already, with more set to open next year.

5 The fifth point is noise pollution

• Here there is no sound or vibration from internal combustion because the
energy is generated electrically without combustion. This electricity powers one
or more electric motors that drive the vehicle, just like an EV battery. It produces
no greenhouse gases and no emissions other than water vapour
Weakness:
Overall Cost
The cost for a unit of power from hydrogen fuel cells is currently greater than
other energy sources, including solar panels. This may change as technology
advances, but currently this cost is a barrier to widespread use of hydrogen even
though it is more efficient once produced. This expense also impacts costs
further down the line, such as with the price of hydrogen operated vehicles,
making widespread adoption unlikely at the moment
High fuel costs
hydrogen cars is that apart from the high purchase prices, also the prices of
hydrogen fuels are much higher than those of conventional fuels like gas.
The average hydrogen fuel price for energy that is equivalent to one gallon of gas
currently is around 5.50 USD, while the average gallon of gas costs around 2,50
USD. Thus, hydrogen fuel is more than twice as costly when
it comes to fuel expenses.
Highly Flammable
Hydrogen is a highly flammable fuel source, which brings understandable safety
concerns. Hydrogen gas burns in air at concentrations ranging from 4 to 75%.
Servicing a Hydrogen Car
A lack of knowledge when it comes to repairs and maintenance in many car
repair shops since most mechanics are not yet familiar with this rather new
technology.
Therefore, you may also have a hard time finding someone who will be able to fix
your car issues in case you have trouble with your hydrogen engine.
hydrogen vehicles require dealership service centers to exercise some special
precautions. to ensure any escaping hydrogen doesn’t run the risk of an
explosion
Unavailability of generating stations
depending on your living area, you will have a pretty hard time finding a suitable
fuel station that provides you with hydrogen fuel.
This implies that you will be pretty confined in the use of your hydrogen car since
you might simply run out of fuel on a regular basis if you do not pay close
attention regarding fuel opportunities.

Fuel inefficiency
Hydrogen production is currently inefficient due to its need for electricity, in
addition to being energy-intensive with a large amount of basic energy loss, while
the electric car benefits directly from its battery and loses little electricity.
Investment is Required
Hydrogen fuel cells need investment to be developed to the point where they
become a genuinely viable energy source. This will also require the political will
to invest the time and money into development in order to improve and mature
the technology. Put simply, the global challenge for development of widespread
and sustainable hydrogen energy is how best to incrementally build the ‘supply
and demand’ chain in the most cost-effective manner.
Opportiunites
Hydrogen cars come in response to the call of the cop27 climate conference, which
calls for preserving the environment

No competitors
The absence of competitors is considered the first company in the market to sell
hydrogen cars inside Egypt

Tax schemes on hydrogen-powered vehicles The tax incentives and benefits

Threates
High costs for new cars
One major disadvantage of hydrogen fuel cars is that they are pretty expensive.
New hydrogen cars are usually sold much higher compared to conventional cars.

Limited selection of vehicles

Another issue with hydrogen cars is that the selection of fuel cell cars is pretty confined.
While for conventional cars, you can choose a myriad of different types and models,
only a few car companies engage in the hydrogen car market.
Therefore, you would have to make compromises when it comes to buying a hydrogen
car.

Hydrogen is not a primary energy source like coal or natural gas that is extracted from a
deposit, but a chemical product, a gas used in industry to refine gasoline among others
(there we explain the details). Therefore, it depends on a generation infrastructure and,
as of today, there are only 432 hydrogen stations in Europe and Asia, a practically non-
existent presence compared to its competitors
