Former NFL Player Shares His Journey Through a

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver, Marcus Beaurem shares what he has learned through his

Marcus O. Beaurem II is a former professional football

football player in Michigan in 2009-2010, lettered in both
football and track and field, Division 1 scholarship offers from Central Michigan University, Eastern
Michigan University, and Bowling Green University, committed to
Bowling Green University but transferred to Tiffin University where he
broke a 12-year-old record for All Time Catches in a Career, set by
Super Bowl winning Wide Receiver Nate Washington, All Conference
for Greater Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 3 times, All-
American in 2014, All Star in 2015 for the College Gridiron Showcase
All Star Game, signed to the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent,
2016 Indoor Football League Champion with Sioux Fall Storm.

Starting at age six, Marcus played football until age twenty-four. With
experience playing pee-wee, middle school, junior high, high school,
college, and professional football, he has learned a lot. However, this
knowledge surpasses even football. Beaurem has won championships
and played with professional teams, but he also experienced losses
and a concussion that left him no longer being able to play the sport
he loves. He always encourages the Marcus

mile and put in the work. From his own personal experience, he tells them to be leaders by actions and
not words, because actions speak louder. One saying that kept Marcus going was, “Set the tone early,
because you don’t have to recover from a good start”.

Sharing his journey he says,

“Football has taught me and given me so much. I was able to travel the world, make lifelong
connections, learn a lot by myself and how far I can push myself past limits I didn't know was possible. I
was always overlooked as a player. From the time I started at 6 years old. Was never viewed as the
biggest, fastest, or toughest, but I have a work ethic. I have a desire. I have will power. I was not going to
be denied. When I was told I wouldn't start in high school, I proved people wrong and was one of the
top players on the team and in the county. When I was told I wouldn't play in college, I proved people
wrong and received recognition from big programs like Michigan and Kentucky and earned 3 Division 1
scholarships. All my life I had to prove myself to others, but that was never my motivation because I
knew I always belonged and had talent. I just had to prove it to myself!”

For his business, Jet 9 Elite Training, Marcus trains kids all over the Dayton area, from cities like
Centerville, Springboro, Xenia, Warren County,
Franklin, and more. He teaches speed and
agility, strength and conditioning, specific wide
receiver coaching, as well other football
positions, and more classes. Recently, Marcus
O. Beaurem has been working for Home Field
Instruction as a Football Instructor, in addition
to Jet 9 Elite Training. Through Home Field,
Marcus does private training lessons, as well as Marcus Training with Athletes
strength and conditioning classes. And while he
is most experienced with Wide Receivers,
Marcus’ training can be helpful to many Marcus Training Athletes
different people, of all ages. His company’s goal is to pass his knowledge to the next generation and
train these children to be even better footballers than he was. With Jet 9, Marcus is working to mentor
athletes for greatness, and push them further, even past the height of their expectations.
