QUESTIONS:

1. In your judgment, what was the greatest achievement of Rizal when he

was in London? Why?

While listening to the story, the one thing that struck me as

Rizal's greatest triumph was hearing the excellent news from
Mariano Ponce. Rev. Vicente Garcia defended the Noli Me
Tangere against the friars' onslaught. This was his biggest triumph
while in London, in my opinion, because one of his primary goals
was to truly serve his countrymen and provide them the life that
they deserved. Through his zeal, his sojourn had impacts on the
Filipino people, and when he was in London, it represented his
aims, some of which were realized and some were not. What made
me think about it? Why did he travel, study, and gain knowledge?
Because it symbolizes additional motivation for him to attain his
ambitions and goals. And I believe Dr. Jose Rizal believes that this
good news would drive him to delve deeper, to seek justice, and to
aid his compatriots. Most notably, there are small changes, and I
also feel that ‘small things are what important.' I mean, with the
Spaniards overtaking or colonizing our country in worst-case
scenarios, every small change is accountable for everyone because
I believe it was impossible for the Filipino people to stop the
cruelty during the Spanish Era, but with Dr. Rizal's eager beaver
character, he really done it in his own ways. As a result, his greatest
success while in London was hearing the excellent news that Rev.
Vicente defended his book in order to aid his compatriots.
QUESTIONS:

2. Were Rizal’s three (3) main objectives have been achieved in London?
Point out if needed. Why did you say so?

According to what I indicated in the first question, some of

Dr. Rizal's aims are met, while others are not. The first of his goals
was to increase his understanding of the English language, which I
believe he accomplished since knowing his ability to adapt and
comprehend any language by hearing words from others around
him makes perfect sense. If I recall properly, while he was on a
cruise ship in Spain, he did not comprehend what was being said,
but as time passed, he gained some understanding. This argument
confirms my statement that he has always had the skill of mastering
numerous languages and is recognized as a "linguistic genius." His
second goal is to study and annotate Antonio de Morga's Sucesos
de Las Islas Filipina, which I assume he accomplished because one
of his reasons for traveling is to learn. As evidence, he visits the
Bibliotheque Nationale, or National Library, in Paris. And one of
the primary reasons he remains in London is to read the work of
Antonio de Morga, a Spanish historian and lawyer. He was also
successful at annotating this book because he did it himself. And
the last one is that London was a safe place for him to carry out his
fight against Spanish tyranny, which I believe he did not achieve
because, even though he is in London, which is not governed by
the friars and where people have freedom, he is bothered and
concerned about his countrymen in the Philippines, which is
governed by the friars. As a result, his existence there is sorrowful
yet hopeful, as he bears the torch of hope for the Filipino people.
QUESTIONS:

3. Read the article about Rizal’s Annotation of the Morga’s Sucesos.

What specific annotation struck you and why?

"In climate aspect Morga written that winters and summers

are opposite in Europe. Rainfalls from the month of June to
September and summer from the month of October to the end of May.
Rizal explained that in December to February, the temperature goes
down and also in august to September, summer is on March to July."
Because as I read it and experience the seasons here in our country, I
can confidently say that Morga is definitely not correct. Most notably
in September, October, November, and December, often known as
"ber" months, the temperature or cold-breeze and rainfalls continue
until FebruaryI take notice of this since my parents are farmers and
workers, and we only grow veggies like eggplant, beans, chili, and
okra during the rainy season. And I can always tell whether it is dry
season or summer since our family has such a hard time producing
money because there is no other supply of water that can feed the
demands of veggies. As a result, I am aware of the climate in October
because it is my birth month, and every birthday of mine has
substantial rains. In conclusion, the work of Rizal annotation seeks to
raise all Filipinos' awareness of our past, particularly the terrible
manner in which the Spaniards ruled here in our nation. Morga's
fabricated claims about the natives should be planted in everyone's
mind. They came to the Philippines to serve the religion, specifically
Roman Catholicism, but instead of the gospel of God, they became
the rulers of our country, causing Filipinos to become ignorant, timid,
fools, and dumb. Spaniards must rectify their mistaken perception of
all Filipinos as being of poor intelligence. Finally, I shall be grateful
to our national hero Jose Rizal for his admiration, commitment, and
bravery in defending our country from wicked giants.
