Anderson Recreation Internship Weekly Log

Week Description

8/22-8/26 This week was my introduction to the center

and I got to meet and talk to some of the
visitors to the center.

8/29-9/2 This week we began to have signups for tiny

tots basketball. I was responsible for helping
parents sign their children up and were paying
the correct amount to hold their spot.

9/5-9/9 This week I got the opportunity to hang out

with some of the local community kids after
school and play basketball. I also got to help
with the local adult basketball league and run
the clock for the games played.

9/12-9/16 This week the center was not that busy. I

cleaned the gym floor and helped some of the
local community kids learn how to dribble the
basketball better.

9/19-9/23 This week I got the opportunity to help

promote the local adult league that happens at
the recreation center called “The League” . I
passed out fliers to anyone who visited the
center.

9/26-10/1 This week we began to fully prepare for

basketball season to begin making sure the
clock worked and the floor was taken care of.
I also was responsible for making sure all
basketballs were pumped and the grip of the
ball was at top quality.

10/3-10/8 This week we had Tiny Tots basketball

practice and also got to talk to the parents to
prepare for the upcoming season. We also got
to help some of the kids after school work on
their homework and played games afterwards.

10/10-10/15 This week was the official week of Tiny Tots

basketball as they played their season openers
 and also took their team pictures.

10/17-10/22 This week Tiny Tots basketball continued

their season, and I got to help with early
voting down at the Anderson Center and I also
created a flier for the center's fall festival.

10/24-10/29 This week the fall festival was hosted and I

had the opportunity to referee at an adult
basketball league.

10/31-11/5 This week I was hired as the Head middle

school basketball coach at Carter G Woodson
Middle School. The sign ups for the
community basketball league also began.

11/7-11/12 This week I held Carter G Woodson Middle

school basketball tryouts and hired my
coaching staff for the season.

11/14-11/19 This week Carter G Woodson began their

team practices and Mr.Bryant also gave me an
8u team for the community center to coach as
well on the weekends.

11/21-11/25 This week my middle school team at Carter G

woodson have begun their season and I also
started practice for my 8u team down at the
center.

11/28-12-2 This week middle school team prepared for

another game and I also had a scrimmage with
my 8u team down at the center.
