FHWS Motivation Scholarship

The FHWS International Office offers scholarships to foreign students with excellent grades who
want to begin their studies at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS). It
aims to make starting into university life easier and to reward your decision to study with us by
supporting you with the organization and the costs involved.

The scholarships are being funded by the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Bildung und Kultus,
Wissenschaft und Kunst (Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and Art).

Important Scholarship Information

1) Scholarship Benefits

• 300 € per month

• Duration: 5 month ( 1,500.00 € in total)
• An extension is not possible
• Start of payment: November 2022

2) Your Duties as a Scholarship Holder

• Filming a video for the FHWS YouTube channel in either German or English at the end of the
first semester (see an example here).
• An additional task as agreed upon with the HSIN-Team.
• If possible, a visit to your former school for an information event relating to studying at
FHWS. You can receive up to 500.00 € to cover your travel expenses.
• Participation in the annual Alumni and Networking Event of the International Office.

3) Requirements

• You graduated from school/university with excellent grades.

• You are about to start your full-time studies at FHWS.
• You meet the required English and/or German language requirements (depending on your
chosen study program; only certified language tests will be accepted).
• Financial need

You are not eligible for the scholarship if you are:

• A German citizen. However, this does not apply to individuals with dual citizenship.
• A beneficiary of a full DAAD scholarship or other performance-based scholarships
• An exchange student
• Already enrolled at a German/Bavarian University other than FHWS.
4) Deadlines and Application Documents

1. Submission via E-Mail to i-campus@fhws.de no later than 15 September 2022 (until 12 pm

German time):

• A self-produced 1-minute video, taken with your smartphone, in which you explain why
you have chosen the FHWS and why we should support you with the scholarship.
• A complete tabular CV with a picture (maximum 1 page)
• The filled in application form (see attachment)
• Proof of financial need (proof of parental income)

For documents in German or English, a translation is not needed. Documents in any other language
must be translated into German or English.

5) Application Confirmation

You will receive our E-Mail by no later than late September 2022. Please make sure to check your E-
Mail account and spam folder regularly.

As a rule, all confirmations are conditional until enrollment, accuracy of statement and
completeness of all documents is confirmed. Once you have received the confirmation, you need to
submit a scan of your certificate of enrollment for the winter semester 2022/23 to the FHWS via E-
Mail or post no later than 31 October 2022.

Important Information

1) Please send us an email with the application documents requested above as attached PDF files. In
addition, please upload the required application video to a cloud (e. g. Google Drive) and add the
link to the video in the email with your application documents.
2) Please note that the International Office is neither responsible for the completeness of your
application, nor the submission in time. Please understand that due to the high number of
inquiries, we are not able to give you any individual information about the status or
completeness of your application.
