DEFINE POLITICS

Politics is the science of the government and governance of the

selected representatives designated with the task of exercising their power
to create laws/ norms/ policies to practice deception and manipulation of its
state. Its objective is for enabling the state to survive in modernization and
moderation through concrete implementation of social and economic
policies. In addition, the practice of making collective decisions (from the
executive, legislative, and judiciary departments), distribution of power and
resources (political thoughts and opinions about what should be done by
the government), and the allocation of scarce resources are one of the
attributes of people under the wing of political power. Whereas, when
politics is put into political science it emanates the image of “struggle to
power”, considering how Aristotle describe humans as a political being who
continuously strived for power and authority. Albeit, compare to politics,
POLSCIE provides more comprehensive understanding of governance and
gives us tools (theoretical ideas and assumptions) to interpret the
government actions for us to understand reality and to foresee political
choices. Basically, politics is the implementation whilst political science is
the study with the desire to grasp “good life” and “ideal society”. In the
statement, ‘man is a political being’, if it is true then politics is not only
prevalent in our lives but inevitable. Therefore, we must understand politics
to meaningfully participate on it or at least educate citizens about our
government, because a good citizen knows how his government operates.

DEFINE SOCIETY
I perceive the meaning of society similar to how people licking
the wounds of another. For each and every individual’s interaction and
reliance to others is innate in nature since ‘no man is an island’. Likewise, it
is a system that constitutes unique parts which complemented each other
and unite to aid, improve and bring a satisfying advantages or benefits for
everyone. Suffice to say, we were born and raised to interact and build
relationship in hope of pursuing better life. To study society is to study
human relationship or social system or human group behavior. Altogether,
it is a systematic study of society and human social action. The significance
is that, this helps us figure out the complexities of human behavior and
relations in an attempt of solving or alleviate the aforementioned societal
problems for improving human condition.

DEFINE CULTURE
Culture is the embodiment of the engraved pattern that is being
transmitted to succeeding generations year after year. It highlights the
essence of how values, ideas or reasons and experiences give meaning to
human life. For that reason, in terms of anthropology it is express as the
“science of man” for it depicts the study of the totality of human existence.
