Mathematician Like Me

There are many different layers to your identity. Your race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, and others are all a part
of what makes you you. For this assignment, I want you to find a mathematician that has something in common
with yourself. This could be any of the layers listed above but it can also be someone that shares a common interest
with you. Please include at least three interesting facts about the mathematician of your choice.
Example:

Leonardo Bonacci (Fibonacci)

1170-1250
1) The name he is commonly called, Fibonacci, was made up in 1838 by the Franco-
Italian historian Guillaume Libri and is short for filius Bonacci ('son of Bonacci')
2) He wrote a book, the Liber Abaci (1202), which showed practical value to many of
the applications we will learn in Precalculus (For example, converting weights and
measures, and calculation of interest)
3) Most importantly: He discovered the Fibonacci Sequence resulting in the Golden
Ratio. Almost everything in nature is based on the Fibonacci Sequence and the
Golden Ratio - I am a HUGE lover of all things in nature, so knowing there is a
mathematical reason for everything astounds and fascinates me!
Yours:

Albert Einstein
1879-1955
Interesting Facts/What I identify with…

4) Albert Einstein had a 1427 paged book report by the FBI in 199
5) He loved the violin and sailing, and hated socks and haircuts. He also loved bird
watching.
6) I personally love physics. Albert Einstein has been known for his achievements in
physics, and has even been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
