When interacting online, use proper language with others in a discussion board, this means no

emoticons, text lingo or swear words. The discussion boards are a professional environment free

from tomfoolery.

Please remember to run a spell and grammar check before submitting your post, use something

like Grammarly or Microsoft Word’s built in spell and grammar check.

Make sure your post looks right to you, this isn’t digital art, there is no CTRL Z or Undo buttons.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS, IT SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE SCREAMING AND I BECOME

CONCERNED THAT YOU WILL INJURE YOUR VOCAL CORDS, especially if this happens

a lot.

Respect other people and avoid dark humor in our discussion posts, this is a safe place and a civil

area, any problems will result in a write up.

If my assignments seem difficult, please let me know! I do sometimes make mistakes and will be

glad to double check and if needed assist in what problems you have.

Please don’t wait until last minute to turn in your assignments, and if you do, please do not ask

about the grade the next day, yours is most likely at the bottom of the grading pile with how late

you turned it in, so it will take a few days.

Please be courteous to your peers and your professors. Use proper grammar and ask questions

properly, “I need help over here teach!” is not proper, “Mr./Ms., I would like some help if you

have the time today.” Is a bit more proper.

I would use this guideline list as a general rule list for the class’s discussion boards, as well as

emails and also as a general rule of thumb for situations outside the classroom, such as applying

for jobs and or applying for college. These guidelines are important due to the growing amount

of people applying for jobs online and applying for college online as well. It will give them

professional standards to uphold as they grow as humans.
