Essential Question:

Graduating students usually have a variety of options to contemplate. To help you with this
process, you will need to complete each of following sections of the Transition Plan, which will
hopefully allow you to better understand the path that interests or most interests you to follow after
graduation.

Follow these steps:

1) Complete Your Career Plans (You will need a Plan A & B)

2) Next, complete the following two options:

• Post-secondary education or training (You’ve already completed most of this research with
your PSI Research Assignment)
• Travel / Gap year

3) Finally, complete the section called: Working full-time and living on your own.

4) Submit your Transition Plan online through Teams before the deadline (December 9th) and post
your completed Transition Plan to your CLC Portfolio Page on your website.

CAREER: PLAN A
o What I enjoy most about becoming a Marketing Manager is getting
the freedom to make the executive decisions on how to properly
market a business/product.
o This choice gives me a chance to release my creative freedom in
my life.
o Marketing Manager would be the best choice for my life because it
has creative freedom and leadership all wrapped into one
occupation. I work best in a leadership position and getting to
organize the plans and productivity of the business.
o Marketing managers get a chance to work closely with the top
executives which would give me a chance to make a lot of the big
decisions. The only downside is that I would need to learn to be
confident in my decisions in order to be heard.
o A downside is that the job can become quite stressful due to tight
deadlines. I believe this could become an upside for myself as I
work well with my time and have trained myself to work off that
stress.
o The responsibilities for a Marketing Manager include estimating the
demand for products/services, identify potential markets for the
organizations product/service, develop pricing strategies to help
maximize their profits and help plan the best strategies for
promoting the product/service to the public.
o The salary range for British Columbia is $41,870 - $130,000
o The future outlook for Marketing Managers in British Columbia
seem to have a fair outlook and the demand for Marketing
Managers are high.
o There might be a need to travel around the world frequently to meet
with global companies/partners.
o There is a lot of room to grow in terms of Marketing Managers.
When getting into the role, you have the chance to be the Lead
Executive for Marketing in the business which means the other
Managers and Marketing Coordinators would come to you.
1. I have the ability to arrange and plan promotional activities or events.
This is because of my interest type which is The Arranger.
2. I have the ability to develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives
and customer satisfaction.
3. I have the ability to direct the hiring, training or performance evaluations
of marketing or sales staff and oversee their daily activities. I am good at
doing this due to my previous experience as a Team Leader and Cast
trainer at my current position.

o What I enjoy most about becoming a Human Resources Specialist
is that I get to help deal with tough situations.
o This choice would give me a simple lifestyle. Human Resources
Specialist typically work in an office and the job is typically a 9-5.
o This job would be a good choice for me as it would allow me to
apply my leadership skills and enforce a lot of the rules in the
business. It would also allow me to oversee who is being hired and
doing the training to ensure we are following the company's
policies.
o An upside is that this choice is a lot less stressful which can allow
me to have a healthy work/life balance.
o A downside of the job is finding a stable position for a company. It is
easier to work in a Human Resource firm as most jobs don’t keep
permanent positions for Human Resource staff.
o Some of the responsibilities for someone in the Human Resource
position is recruiting and overseeing the hiring process, they help
guide employees through procedures and answer questions about
the policies. They also often administer benefits, process payroll,
and handle any associated questions or problems.
o The salary range in British Columbia is $43,680-$133,328
o The outlook/demand for Human Resouces is very high in British
Columbia.
o A good factor in terms of my lifestyle is that I will have a healthy
work and life balance as the shifts are not that long.
o There isn't too much opportunity to have advancements in this
position other than becoming the lead in terms of the Human
Resources team.

sessions which is something that I have experience in with my current
position.
2. I have the ability to resolve employee relations issues due to me being
able to recognize the situation and having the ability to figure out how to
diffuse the situation.
3. My top subject area is Business which would be good with keeping track
and sharing all of the companies guidelines and policies.
