Job Title: Biological Science Technician

Job Summary:
Sanford Federal, Inc. is currently seeking for a Biological Science Technician to perform the
services required as described in this job description.

Skills and Knowledge:

The Biological Science Technician shall knowledge the following services, which include, but
are not limited to the items listed below:

• The person should have knowledge of wildlife inventories and databases using

USFWS internal systems for inventory and monitoring projects for a variety of natural
resources.

• The technician should have knowledg in habitat restoration planning and activities and
be able to provide technical support to researchers and refuge operations staff.
• The person should have skills on GPS/GIS and habitat mapping.
 • The person should have excellent communication skills to work with the community
and with other Federal and Commonwealth agencies and organizations.

Qualifications:

• Candidate(s) shall have a valid Puerto Rico driver’s license.

• Candidate(s) are required to have a valid/current background check.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluation of documentation submitted for the proposed restoration of the salt flats;
• Providing recommendations to the refuge manager;
• Participation in meetings, site visits and other coordination activities related to the
project;
• Coordination of all activities related to needed permits for the project
• Conducting migratory and resident bird surveys with an emphasis on the Cabo Rojo
salt flats in order to ensure the availability of data
