SMIT JINGLE MAKING COMPETITION

1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of Liceo del Verbo Divino, Inc..

2. Only one (1) entry per team is allowed.

3. Each team may have one (1) to ten (10) participants including the singer/s and
instrumentalist/s.

4. The jingle must be an original composition and must not have been used as entry in any
song competitions before.

5. The content of the jingle must be lively, appealing, creative and must highlight the 2022
SMIT Month theme: "Science, Mathematics, and Information Technology: Resiliency,
Innovation, Service, and Equity (RISE) Amidst Global Crisis"

6. The use of offensive and rude words is strictly prohibited.

7. The jingle must be written in English.

8. Any musical instrument can be used as accompaniment at the composer’s discretion. The
accompaniment can be performed live in the video or it can be prerecorded as long as the
material is original and have not been used in any jingles before.

9. A video showing the singer/s performing the jingle must be emailed at

dean.cinco@lvd.edu.ph. Subject: JINGLE MAKING COMPETITION – Team name.

10. The lyrics and songwriter/s of the jingle must be encoded and submitted in document
(.docx) format along with the video.

11. The duration of the jingle entry must be more than 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.

12. The deadline of submissions is on or before September 25, 2022

13. The following criteria shall be used for judging the entries:

COMPOSITION 40%
(Catchy melody, lively music, rhythm, and recall)
RELEVANCE TO THE THEME 20%
LYRICAL CONTENT 15%
(Originality of lyrics, clarity of message, language, and phrasing)
CREATIVITY 15%
(Use of structure, instruments, vocal quality)
APPEAL/IMPACT 10%

14. Final judging shall be made after the deadline of submission of all entries.

15. The winning team shall receive the following:

1st Place – Certificates and 100 team points

2nd Place – Certificates and 80 team points

3rd Place – Certificates and 65 team points

4th Place – Certificates and 50 team points
