VIO 3 generator module, a high-end unit, for the first time in electrosurgery ERBE offers automatic

The user-friendly VIO 3 generator module functions as the central control unit, providing the right
amount of power at the right time. Modern regulative technologies provide the optimal power
dosages for the new and improved electrosurgical functions.

New VIO 3 modes

preciseSECT (Low smoke exposure)

Dynamic adjustment of the modulation frequency makes this new mode ideally suited for exposing
structures. preciseSECT facilitates rapid and effective coagulation with limited tissue separating
properties, in combination with less development of smoke and cabonization. Usually used for
general/visceral surgery, gynecology, urology.
thermoSEAL (Rapid vessel sealing)

With the new AUTOSTART, thermoSEAL is twice as fast as the BiClamp mode. And this mode
permanently measures the tissue parameters while sparing lateral tissue. This makes thermoSEAL
ideal for sealing tissue bundles and vessels up to 7 mm using our instruments as well as for
coagulating bleedings extremely efficiently. Usually used for general/visceral surgery, gynecology,
urology.

highCUT bipolar / Bipolar resection

This new mode has been optimized for bipolar resection in a saline solution. The power peak system
(PPS) enables rapid incision. The stable plasma facilitates rapid cutting using bipolar resectoscopes.

Advanced CUT and COAG functions

Endo Cut I/Q Upgrade for Gastroentrology (*optional)

The fractionated cut with cutting and coagulation intervals. For snare or needle / wire applications in
endoscopy procedures.

Bipolar Cut and Bipolar Cut+/++ for Bipolar TUR for Urology

Bipolar cutting with all the advantages provided by voltage regulation in 8 predetermined cutting
qualities. The cutting current is only present at the target tissue. This ensures more safety and
guarantees precise cuts.

New resect in saline solution with the BIPOLAR CUT+/++ and optimal initial incision (e.g. during TUR)

BICLAMP UPGRADE for Obgyn, Digestive, General, ETC

Support the ERBE BICLAMP. The bipolar clamp for the coagulation/resp. Thermofusion of vessels
with a large lumen and vascular tissue structures up to diameter 7mm and withstand 7x systolic
normal, without dissection and easy to use. The VIO 3 can be adapted to accommodated this
application with appropriate software and hardware modifications. ERBE VIO does not require an
additional electrosurgical unit.

TWIN COAG UPGRADE/CLASSIC COAG for Cardiac Surgeon (*optional)

This ugrade will extend the range or your VIO 3, permitting you to simultaneously activate two
separate monopolar instruments for Cardiac procedure.

ReMode

With the modern ReMode activation concept ERBE has developed a “remote control” which is very
user-friendly. Using the VIO foot switch the operating physician can switch between pre-set
instrument setting-without another person having to change the setting on the system. VIO 3 has
selection of up to 6 sub-programs directly from the operating field

Innovative development : the Neutral Electrode Safety System NESSY

With the NESSY safety concept and the ERBE patient plate NESSY Ω the VIO 3 sets new standards for
patient safety.

NESSY monitors the applications of the patient plate, providing the user with information which is
graphically displayed on the monitor.

Because of its new shape the NESSY Ω Neutral Electrode can be applied irrespective of direction. It
practically precludes the troublesome “leading edge” effect, i.e. the development of high current
densities at the electrode edges, improve patient safety.
