1. What is meant by the famous African proverb, “It Takes a Village to Raise a
Child”?
This famous African proverb has something to do with the community
since if the people who are living in a community with full of respect and
understanding to one another then we can consider that community as a
peaceful community, as a result, we can create many opportunities for the
people and besides that, we can also show to the children who are living in the
community where they see their elder who is respecting one another and they
valued each other and through their action, then they can build up their
children to be a good citizen in the future, that’s why the community has a
bigger reason in molding the character of a child that’s why we can see
different child personalities and we can trace this trait on their respective
community on how they raise their children. If we are going to understand
why it’s hard to raise a child, this problem could have resulted in a
community that has a bad environment where there is the presence of evil-
doing such as showing disrespect and fighting one another this may be a
problem that children acquire through their respective community and we
can’t blame the children that they possess those characteristics that’s why
there is a saying that goes our first teacher is our parents since our parents
the one who teach good values and good etiquette if the parents failed to
perform this responsibility then they can assure that their children will have
a bad attitude in the future. Therefore, we can base our judgment on
whether those children had a bad attitude or had a good attitude toward
their parents.

Preliminary Examination

As a future educator, what is the greatest value you should impart in teaching
Social Studies? How this value helps your nation towards its progress and
development?

As a future educator, the greatest value that I will impart in teaching

social studies was the value of diversity wherein there is the presence of
respect to one's identity and the support of equality of all human beings.
As we all that social studies are studying different areas of study but the
most important value that I consider significant is the value of diversity
wherein we should teach this value to our students since it already
comprises the value of respect to every culture around the world. If we
going to imagine if the world valued each other, then we can create a
peaceful and progressive nation, and developed society, since there is no
discrimination that is circulating within each other than the trade sector
of each country is fully alive and we can experience the progress having a
good relationship with different cultures. This is what I believe if everyone
is united despite our differences the world with become one in which they
will help each other in times of difficulties and hardship and the world will
be concerned on every country. As a future educator, I invest in teaching
this value because it has a big impact on our progress and development. If
everyone will give importance to this value, I think our students will
understand the value of respect to every culture of the world then it will be
the beginning of our success towards progress and development.
