September 05, 2020

As we welcome the new academic year with the new normal, the United Architects of
the Philippine Student Auxiliary UB Lipa Chapter conducted a 3rd Annual General
Assembly last September 05, 2020 via Google Meet, various activities were performed
including the motivational speeches of our professors. The event was successful
nonetheless, the officers came up with the comics theme to make it more fascinating.
Along the event, the professors one by one gave their motivational speeches. Since
they know how hard and long this program we are taking, as soon as possible they want
us to keep in touch. This program could break us physically and mentally, but they want
us to remember that these struggles and sleepless nights will hone us soon to become
a better Architect someday, regarding the situation that this new normal of teaching
could hinder most of us, our professors promised that they will still give the quality
education we deserved, that this pandemic will never be a barrier for us. Afterwards,
Immediate Past President, Ariane Joy R. Bautista, recognized the newly elected officers
for the fiscal year 2020-2021, for our Chapter President, Joshua B. Pureza, who will
serve the Architecture community together with the officers. He also gave his speeches
for his fellow students, likewise, his inspiring words yearns to inspire students most
especially our first years. He vowed to make this year fruitful and ineluctable despite the
current pandemic. It would be hard and unprecedented to handle the situation, but
positively, they will try their best to serve us good service and help. On the other hand,
as Ariane Joy R. Bautista gave her closing remarks to the students, she wishes us a
good luck for our new school year.
It was wrapped up, many students have wholeheartedly participated on our virtual
General Assembly. Hardworks were paid for the officers who managed the event,
although this was their first time, as soon as possible they did their best to welcome
everyone in the community, to embrace the new academic year together.

UAPSA-UBL WORLD ARCHITECTURE WEEK

October 26-31, 2020

The UAPSA-UBL celebrates their World Architecture Week entitled DINAMIKA:

Towards a Better Urban Future, they conducted a webinar and some various activities
that will help students in their field. They invited some speakers that tackles mental
health and field related, as well as exhibition of students architectural plates.

In line with it, the department has its annual tradition every Halloween. The students will
cosplay any scary characters and do some activity. The scariest costume will win as
part of the activity and get some incentives. Since we are in the midst of a pandemic, it
was conducted virtually. The students need to post their entry online so the professors
can judge them. Many students participated and had fun in doing the activity, the
organization proves that even in virtual celebration, it will never be a hindrance to do the
tradition.

Overall, the event was successful. Although there are some problems encountered, the
organization happens to surmount it.

WORLD ARCHITECTURE DAY
UAPSA-UBL National Architecture Week

On January 27-30, 2021

The UAPSA-UBL celebrates their National Architecture Week entitled N(e)AW Normal:
Shifting Norms in the Practice of Architecture. They conducted a webinar and invited
some amazing speakers that will help students in their field. Also, various activities like
quiz bees and design competitions happened. As usual, online exhibits of architecture
plates will not be missed out.

For the activity, the UAPSA-UBL invited Batangas State University to join their activities.
The other school willingly accepted the invitation and sent some participants in the
activities. On the first day of the event, we had some workshops for rendering and
perspectives. The students really enjoyed this part as they actively participated in the
demonstration. On the same day, a speaker talks about urban planning. On the second
day, we conducted the quiz bee and design competition. The thrill between the two
schools as in the final round is intense, in the end, a student from Batangas State
University wins the spot. On the other hand, a student from the University of Batangas
won the design competition. On the last day of celebration, we had a speaker to talk
about our field and online exhibits.

The event was successful and unforgettable, students seemed to gather a lot of
knowledge from the speakers and had inspirations from online exhibits. As the president
gave his inspiring speech to the students, he was so grateful for the cooperation that the
students showed.
