Hello!

What simple things do you consider before you buy something? Do you
consider its package design? Why does packaging style or the product design
matter with preference to costumers?

design. All you must do is read its contents and understand the instructions
to properly answer the various tasks within this module.

Objectives

At the end of the module, you should be able to:

➢ Recognize the elements and principles applied using new technologies

(hardware and software) in package design;
➢ Create own prints on the use of software (commands, menu, etc.), and;
➢ Show willingness to incorporate new technologies in package design.

Blender is a free software that you can use to create a model of your product.
If you have a Mac OSX, Linux, or MS Windows;
1. Connect to the internet.
2. Download its latest version by logging on www.blender.org.

What is It

Product Design

The process of developing new or focusing on enhancing existing products from

scratch.
Thinking and Creating the Product

1.Research
It will help you decide if your product design will be worth the effort, time and
gathering of materials.

2. Create and test your model

Unless you try it, you will never know if the product functions.

3. Present your product design

Develop an identity through a name and logo, then describe how your
product works, for whom it is designed, and why it is important to your target
market.

Designing Your Product Using Technology

Product designers use accessible materials and technologies when creating
prototypes or the sample of working models. A successful design will shift away
from the racks, art elements and design principles are applied. The shapes and
colors of your design have a visual impact. Shape, most solid objects are placed in
geometric boxes while the liquid objects are placed in cylinders. Colors should show
the variety and relevance to the product’s brand. It helps inspire the buyers to buy
rather than restrain the buyer to use your product. It also looks presentable when
there is harmony and contrast in the letters, shapes, and colors. Text is very
important information which the costumer also can read.
Blender’s Interface Its interface is divided into five parts called Editors, which
allow you to display and change your work:
1. Toggle Shelf
2. 3-D View
3. Timeline
4. Outliner
5. Properties Editor

1.Toggle Shelf

tools that can be hidden
from view by pressing the

lamp, a camera, and a cube object. Blender will have nothing to render without the
lamp or camera. In order to see modelled objects on your rendered scene you have
to put a light source or camera to it.

3. Timeline
This is used in animation. You may assign actions to your objects and control
how it moves and when it moves.

4. Outliner
It displays a list of items in your scene It initially loads a camera, a cube, and
a lamp. You use the Outliner to select an object when you cannot find it from the
main 3D view window.

5. Properties Editor
The Properties Editor contains array of tabs that group the buttons that
change depending on what tool is being used and the type of task being performed.
It has 12 different setting tabs.
