INSTRUCTION: Group yourselves into threes. Given the following


experiments and random variables, identify what the possible
values of the random variables are. Also, for each random
variable, identify whether the variable is discrete or continuous.
Present the data using a table or graph depending on the kind of
the variable Items 2 – 5 needs a documentation.

1. Experiment: Roll a pair of dice


Random Variable: product of numbers that appears in the pair of
dice.
THE VARIABLE IS DISCRETE:
1). Probability for rolling two dice with the six sided dots such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 dots
in each die.
When two dice are thrown simultaneously, thus number of event can be 6×6 = 36
because each die has 1 to 6 number on its faces. Then the possible outcomes are
shown in the below table.
