In this activity the students will be given a series of photos that
would describe a short story in about 5 parts. The students are
to number the story based on what happens from the
beginning to the end. The teacher will describe the story to the
students for the first short story as an example then they
would divide into small groups of 3 or 4. Each group will take
turns going to the smart board to complete a sequence. When
they believe that they have completed the task, the whole
class will evaluate it together to decide whether it is correct or
not.
1. Students are introduced to the activity through a mini
lecture about stories and sequencing
2. Students will work on a practice story with the teacher
3. Students are then divided into 3 or 4 groups.
4. Students go up to the boar and create their sequence
then sit down.
5. After each group has gone, we asses each sequence as
a class
6. The class votes on whether the sequence is correct or
not and the answer is revealed by the teacher.
7. After all sequences have been revealed, the teacher
winds down by showing a video about number
sequencing which starts the lesson for the day.
