Inter-Departmental Pitch Competitions

For all the FCAI classes of Entrepreneurship, a 2 Minute competition shall be held in the 13th or 14th Week
of the Semester. Students shall present their assigned class projects in teams.

Rules of the Pitching Competition:

i. All students of entrepreneurship classes must participate in the competition.


ii. The pitch requires an idea to be presented that has already been approved by the subject faculty.
iii. The ideas shall be pitched by students in teams already approved by the faculty.
iv. The time to pitch is 2-Minutes as the number of teams may increase.
v. The content of the pitch must have been discussed with the faculty before presenting.
vi. The pitch shall accompany a business plan already developed during the semester.
vii. The components of the business plan may vary from class to class.
viii. Faculty and Judges need to judge and score the idea and mainly the pitch.
ix. Critical analysis of the idea by the judges and faculty shall be provided through suggestions and
comments in writing.
x. The final scoring criteria of the pitch shall be provided to the faculty and judges before the
competition that may include (but is not limited to):
a. Delivery Criteria:
i. Dressing Sense
ii. Told a Story
iii. Spoke clearly, used easy-to-understand language
iv. Relates to audience
v. Enthusiastic, passionate about the idea, full of energy
vi. Stage Presence
vii. Presentation Content
b. Main Criteria
i. Information of the Problem
ii. How this solves the problem (Value Preposition)
iii. The idea is described in a compelling way
iv. Who will buy (Target Audience)
v. Potential Impact
c. Additional Criteria
i. Business Model
ii. Market and its size
iii. Competitive Advantage
iv. Leadership team and background (brief introduction)
v. Potential for growth and scalability of the idea
xi. Judges and Faculty may increase the pitch time by allowing just 1 extra minute depending upon
certain run time unforeseen conditions.
xii. Certificates shall be provided to all the teams. Teams must register with their startup names.
xiii. The Deans, Associate Deans, Chairmen, Directors, and Faculty Members all shall be invited to
witness the pitch competition and motivate the students for their ideas and skills.
xiv. The event shall be open to all other students, with special invitations to BIC incubates.
