What is Upcycling?
To upcycle is to treat an item that has already been used in such a
way that you male something of greater quality or value than the
original item. (Oxford University Press, n.d.)

The complete and easy guide to make


your own vintage cork coasters.

Materials:
Corks Scissors

Cardboard Pencil
Glue Strainer
Serrated knife Pot
or Cutter Water

Steps:
1. Pour some water into a pot and

place eight to twelve corks into a


strainer.

2. Place the strainer over the pot and let them steam over the
stove for 10-15 minutes.
3. Put the corks to the side and let them cool to the touch.
4. Take a small piece of

cardboard, draw a circle with a


pencil on it and cut it out.

5. Carefully cut the corks in half and


glue them on the cardboard circle from
the inside to the outside of it.

6. Optionally, decorate the coaster with beads or ribbons.
