ENGL 4021 L03 MINUTES
Meeting Date: August 24, 2022

Call to Order:

A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 L03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce was held in
room MTC-1 on August 24, 2022. The meeting convened at 1:32 p.m., Professor LeCompte presiding and
Jaylis M. Colón Coronado, secretary. All students attended except: Oscar Green and Victoria Otero.

Approval of Minutes:

The minutes corresponding to the meeting of August 22, 2022 were approved after corrections.

Matters Discussed:

1. Developing writing fluency: Professor LeCompte assigned a two-minute free writing exercise.
The prompt provided was: If you could keep only one memory what would it be?

2. The professor finished the discussion of technical instructions by explaining the elements,
which were:
• Title
• Introductory sentence
• Numbered steps
• Diagrams (visuals)
• Warning (caution, disclaimer, note)
3. Professor LeCompte expanded the exercise of the mousetrap by introducing graphic organizers,
such as:
• Venn diagrams
• Outlines

4. After the explanation, the students practiced the construction of a venn diagram.

5. The professor announced two assignments, which consisted of:

• Creating an outline in pairs
• Watching the documentary “The Future of Food”

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 2:50 p.m.
