On May 23, 2019, the STAR & LGAO JOINT Virtual Conference commenced. It
was attended by Ms. Rosallie E. Balhag, Ms. Lindsey N. Eje and other officers of
PICPA Lipa Chapter. The Conference was composed of two technical sessions
wherein Ms. Rhodora G. Icaranom, being the first speaker, started the
discussion on Tax filing and payment amid COVID-19 crisis and beyond. It was
followed by Mr. Fernando L. Ng who discussed and explained the impact of
going concern and subsequent events reporting. The event was very
productive and ended successfully, with the attendees looking forward to
another interesting topic related to the new landscape on tax and financial
accounting because COVID-19.

PICPA Central Luzon Region & LGAO hosted a joint seminar on BIR’s COVID-19
related issuances last May 23, 2020 through ZOOM Application Conference
Call. The speaker on the said seminar was Ms. Dean Estelita C. Aguirre. The
purpose of this seminar is to update accountants and taxpayers alike on all the
related issuances of the Bureau of Internal Revenue such as Revenue
Memorandum Circulars, Revenue Regulations, Revenue Memorandum Orders,
in response to the changing deadlines of tax reporting and filing.
