Introduction

Human Resource Management was originally known as personnel or people

management. In the past, its role was quite limited. HRM is a formal way of
managing people within any company or organization. It is a fundamental part
of any organization and its management.
The main responsibilities of the personnel department include hiring,
evaluating, training, and compensating employees. The human resources
department deals with any issues facing the staff in their working capacity
within an organization. HR is concerned with specific work practices and how
they affect the organization’s performance.
Today, Human Resources Management deals with:
 Anything related to managing people within a company or
organization. This means decisions, strategies, principles, operations,
practices, functions, activities, and the methods used to manage
employees.
 The type of relationships people have in their places of
employment and anything that affects those relationships positively or
negatively.
 Ensuring that employees are satisfied with the conditions of their
employment. This leads to better services and the production of goods
and helps the company’s success.
When we talk about human resources in a business situation it means the
workforce, i.e., the employees of a company and what skills and energy they
bring. This includes any ideas, creativity, knowledge, and talents that employees
bring with them and use to help the organization be successful. In other words, a
person’s resources, knowledge, and experience developed over the years.
HRM focuses on bringing in (recruiting) new employees with new talents for
the company and managing employees. Another function is to guide and help
said employees by providing direction when necessary. In a large organization,
with a lot of people, it is important to have a department that specifically
focuses on staff issues. These issues are things like hiring, performance
management, organizational development, training, occupational health and
safety, motivation incentives, communication, workplace culture, and
environment.
Human Resource Management is now a vital part of any organization. Every
company or organization is required to have this department. It helps with
increasing the morale of workers by working on relations between employees
and their employers and constantly striving to make them better. The HR
department also provides any support employees need to assist them to improve
their performance.
To go deeper into this study, we took an interview with Ms. Tarika Patel the
Human Resource Manager of Patel Motors Pvt. Ltd., a retailer of Maruti
Suzuki Arena.

PATEL MOTORS is the largest automobile company in the state of

M.P. having the distribution business of TAFE for Tractors, VE
commercial ltd. for the commercial and passenger vehicle & Maruti
Suzuki Passenger car for the western part of M.P.

Patel Motors has been awarded by State Government with”

BHAMASHA AWARD” for STATE LEVEL largest Commercial
taxpayer in the trading business.
At present they have 15 outlets in various locations in M.P. having
eight service points for Maruti & three for Commercial vehicles and

Review of literature
1. According to Edwin B. Flippo, “Human resource management is
the planning; organizing, directing and controlling of
procurement, development, compensation, integration,
maintenance, and separation of human resource to the end
that individual and societal objectives are accomplished.”
2.  According to Armstrong, human resource management
can be defined as a “ strategic approach to acquiring,
developing, managing, motivating, and gaining the
commitment of the organization`s key resource -the people
who work in and for it.
3. Robbins and Decenzo define ” HRM is a process of acquiring,
retaining, developing, terminating and properly using the human
resources in an organization”.

4. BIHUTI BHUSAN (2022)

Human Resources management is the art of developing
people and their potential for their personnel and the
growth of the organization. It is the process of integrating
the HR and organization together to ensure that their
individual and collective goals are closely aligned. People
have always been considered as a critical factor in an
organizational set up like other resources, such as
technology, finance, and materials, which can be
purchased, human resources are critical and it needs to be
handled with care. Often, organizations are concerned not
only about the employees’ productivity but also about
employee commitment and nurturing their capabilities for
maximum utilization and growth.
5. ALEKSANDRA STOILKOVSKA (2015), The aim of this
article is to examine the problem of the concept of equal employment
opportunities in the HR recruitment and selection process. Thus, it will be
determined if both sides share the same opinion with respect to the
existence of this concept in the mentioned processes. Therefore, the
research includes the existence of prejudices in the recruitment and
selection process such as discrimination based on national and social
origin, gender and sexual orientation, age, political affiliation, etc. As an
essential part of this concept, the legislation in the Republic of Macedonia
and its impact on the process of generating equal opportunities
will be consider
The rationale of the study
HRM can be defined as the effective management of people in an
organization. HR management helps bridge the gap between
employees’ performance and the organization’s strategic objectives.
Moreover, an efficient HR management team can give firms an edge
over their competition.
The main aim of this research is to comprehend more about the
importance and working of HRM in an organization and how elite
firms with a huge number of employees deal with personnel
management.
When a business has valuable, rare, and/or unique human resources it
will always have a competitive advantage over other similar
organizations.
Objectives of the research

1. Objective behind this research is to get an insight into the

Result

Ans 1. HR manager plays a pivotal role to achieve organizational

objectives. It is a human resource/work person who performs tasks and
achieves company goals.
So, human resource is a must in an organization. To get the right number
and right kind of human resource at the right time of company needs and
to motivate, prepare and develop the human resource to perform tasks, the
person in charge of such job, i.e., the human resource manager is no less
important in an organization than human resource at work.
HR manager is a guide, philosopher, friend, path-finder, path identifier,
problem solver, and competence maker of the human During the
expansion and diversification drives, more employees at various levels are
needed. Through proper HRP, an organization comes to know about the
exact requirement of personnel in future plans and resources.

Ans 2. Due to changing business environment, jobs have become

more challenging and there is an increasing need for dynamic and
ambitious employees to fill the positions.  In order to forecast the
need of future employees we predominantly discuss the positions
available and the positions that we need to upgrade so that our
personnel planning works better and more efficiently.

Ans 3. We conduct several selection tests for the desired employees,

according to their jobs for mechanical people we ask questions related
to machines we ask personal questions like where he is from and can
he survives in this environment or not. we ask for how long he or she
can work in this organization and with determination. After
shortlisting we conduct interviews to comprehend their behavioral
skills and interpersonal relationship with others.
Ans 4. Rigorous training is the only way into our organization’s
permanent staff. Even the trainee at the lowest position goes through
proper training which helps him/her understand the workings of the
company much better. , the employees that need
training on machines goes through a vestibule training system.
In conclusion, every staff member whether at the lowest or at the
highest position goes through a proper life-like training model.

Ans 5. After this long process of selection, our final basis for hiring
prospective employees includes Intelligence, behavioral skills,
Mechanical skills, determination, and most importantly need to work

every employee’s birthday, give them vacations, create recreational
moments, take them out for lunch and most importantly create a
healthy, motivated work environment.
CONCLUSION
Through this interview and research project, we were able to
take a deep dive into the vast pool of workings of human
resource management at Patel Motors, Indore.
We can see the everyday challenges that the HR managers
face, and the patience that is needed to handle all such chaos
is highly appreciable by Ms. Tarini Shah.
The human resource department of any organization is
extremely essential as only the personnel of a company can
truly make the organization soar high in the sky of success.
We were able to understand that the bigger the organization,
the more the need for efficient human resource management,
as each employee that works in the organization, should be
properly trained for his/her job at any given time. We can see
how the HRM at Patel Motors handles all their outlets in
different cities through a centralized system to manage every
employee so very well, we can see how effective
communication the key to efficient personnel at Patel Motors
is.
This interview made us learn the various processes of
recruitment and selection Patel Motors follows, we also got to
know about how they shortlist a candidate, the interview
questions they ask, and what is the final basis for their
selection.
It is crystal clear that Patel Motors is a people-oriented
organization that focuses on the professional as well as the
personal growth of an employee. We can see how the various
methods of performance appraisal used in their organization
make the employees highly motivated which becomes the
basis of the organization’s overall growth.
In conclusion, Patel Motors has a highly efficient HRM which
is completely devoted to the organization’s
