Answer all questions

1. a) Find the current through 14Ω resistor in the circuit shown in Fig.1 using Thevenin’s/
Norton’s theorem.

load. Also determine the maximum power.

2. a) Find the Z-parameters of the network shown in Fig. 3.

b) State and prove the Tellegen’s theorem for networks and explain its properties. [4]

3. a) Define the terms: (i) graph, (ii) tree, (iii) link and (iv) twig with an example of each. [3]

b) Find the Incidence Matrix of the network shown in Fig. 4. and find out order of the
reduced incidence matrix. Express the branch current vectors in terms of matrix equation.

4. a) Explain mesh, super-mesh, nodal and super-nodal analysis in terms of the applications
with suitable illustrations. [4]

b) Write the mesh current equations in the circuit shown in Fig. 5 and determine the currents
in each branch.
