Con esta actividad se espera conseguir los siguientes resultados
de aprendizaje:

Resultado de aprendizaje 1: Reconocer la importancia de la energía solar,

comprendiendo los conceptos fundamentales de energía solar, la historia y los
procesos actuales.

La actividad consiste en:

Actividades individuales a desarrollar:

1. Each student must read the contents of the publication: “Solar Energy
Engineering: Processes and Systems. Chapter 1 - Introduction” pages 1 -29
and Chapter 9 – Photovoltaic Systems pages 498-500 available at Unity 1
– Monitoring and evaluation environment.
2. Each student should perform a review of the current status of energy
consumption by sector and type of fuel in your state (department). The
results should be presented graphically.
3. Each student must perform a review about the current status of the use of
renewables in your state (department). The results should be presented
graphically.
4. Each student should suggest five (5) measures to increase the contribution
of renewables.
5. In addition, each student should answer the follow questions:

 a. Why the amorphous silicon is also known as a thin-film PV
technology? Cite some advantages from the amorphous silicon.
b. Cite some benefits of monocrystalline and multicrystalline silicon
solar cells.
c. Cite some advantages from the organic solar cell (OSC) or plastic
solar cell.
d. Cite some solar energy projects in Colombia.

6. Share your reading conclusions in English in the collaborative work forum

Considere que en el acuerdo 029 del 13 de diciembre de 2013, artículo

99, se considera como faltas que atentan contra el orden académico,

Las sanciones académicas a las que se enfrentará el estudiante son las

siguientes:

académico o evaluación respectiva, la calificación que se impondrá será
de cero puntos sin perjuicio de la sanción disciplinaria correspondiente.
b) En los casos relacionados con plagio demostrado en el trabajo
académico cualquiera sea su naturaleza, la calificación que se impondrá
