METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the research design, locale of the study, respondents,

sampling design, research instrument, data gathering procedure, and analysis of data.

Research Design

This study is a descriptive-correlational research. Descriptive research method

was used in this study becauseit aims to determine the IQ scores of the student and

their academic performance which is measured by their GWA.

After determining the IQ scores and GWA of the students, the researchers then

used correlational research in the study to find the relationship between IQ scores and

the academic performance of the student.

Locale of the Study

The study was conducted at Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School,

Borongan City, school year 2022-2023. The school is located at Brgy. Alang-Alang,

Borongan City, and is the biggest secondary school within the Schools Division of

Borongan City.

Respondents of the Study

Fourthy (40) grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences of Eastern Samar National

Comprehensive High School during the school year 2022-2023 served as the

respondents of the study. Samples from each class where chosen randomly.
