(f) In the case of multi-layer elastomeric insulation, the manufacturer


recommended installation detail should be strictly followed. If no
manufacturer recommended installation detail can be provided, all
layers should be glued over the entire surface. The butt and
longitudinal seams of the layer must always be positioned offset to the
other layer.

(g) Insulation thickness given in Table 73.4 is only the minimum


requirement. The Contractor shall make due consideration of
operating conditions in selecting and installing the optimum thickness
of insulation for the respective installations in order to avoid surface
condensation to the full satisfaction of the Project Manager. The
schedule of insulation thickness shall be submitted to the Project
Manager review without objection.

(h) Thickness of insulation shall be the same as that of the corresponding


adjacent water pipes, unless otherwise specified or as required for the
proper operation to the Project Manager without objection.

(i) Not used.

73.4.7 Painting and Identification

(b)S All distribution services shall be colour coded and provided with
symbols for identification purposes. Identification coding for ductwork,
including thermal insulation, shall be in accordance with BESA
Specification DW/144. For pipework, including thermal insulation, the
basic colour and colour coding shall be in accordance with BS 1710.
