1, Label:
A) Label the 7 rows (horizontal (left to right)) known as periods, starting at the
top as 1 (hydrogen) and going to the bottom (Francium) as 7.
B) Label the 18 columns (vertical (top to bottom) known as groups, starting on
the left (hydrogen) as 1 and going to the right (Helium) as 18.
C) Label the top of the bottom two rows on the page Lanthanide (Above it)
and the bottom row Actinide (below it).
2. Color the periodic table the following ways:
A) Metalloids: Color the following elements green (they reside near the
staircase of the periodic table: Boron, Silicon, Germanium, Arsenic, Antimony,
Tellurium
8) Alkali Earth metals: color group 1 (except hydrogen) orange
C) Alkaline Earth metals: color group 2 light red
D) Halogens: Color the top four elements of group 17 purple
E) Noble gases: Color group 18 brown
F) Nonmetals: color the nonmetals (right of the staircase) yellow. There is one
exception, which is Hydrogen on the left, color that yellow as well.
G) Metals: color all metals (left of the staircase) blue. This includes the two
rowsat the bottom of the page
