What is a Geographic Factor
Geographic factors are Climate, bodies of water, elevation, biomes, landscape,
and natural resources.
Examples:
- Coal
- Rain
- Rivers
- Mountains

Turn and talk to the person next to you and use what you know to define these terms.

- Natural Resources

Notes
- Climate: the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period
- Bodies of water: Any significant accumulation of water, usually covering the Earth such as
an ocean, a river, lake or a bay.
- Biomes: an area classified according to the species that live in that location. Temperature
range, soil type, and the amount of light and water are unique to a particular place
- Natural Resources: materials or substances such as minerals, forests, water, and fertile land
that occur in nature and can be used for economic gain
