Hypotheses:
H O: There is no significant relationship between the average SAT verbal score and the average SAT
mathematical score.
H A : There is a significant relationship between the average SAT verbal score and the average SAT
mathematical score.
Hypothesis testing:
α =0.05
df =n−2=6−2=4
CV =0.811
If ¿ r ∨¿CV , then reject H O. Else, fail to reject H O.

Conclusion:
There is a significant relationship between the average SAT verbal score and the average SAT
mathematical score. The relationship is significant at 0.05 level. The positive value of r (0.98)
shows that the relationship is linear, hence when scores in SAT verbal increases there will also
be a significant increase in SAT Math scores.
