“The 3 Idiots: A Reflection Paper”

When I was still an elementary student, I came across the Indian movie
entitled, “The 3 Idiots”, yet at that young age I still can’t fathom what the movie is all
about because all I know is that the said movie is funny and a comedy type of show.
But recently, I finally watched the film with complete understanding and I can
definitely say that it’s really one of the best movies I’ve ever watched in my whole
life. From what I’ve seen, the movie revolves around the three characters namely:
Ranchu, Raju, and Fahran, and their  journey to becoming a successful engineer.
Like every other journey, their voyage as college engineering students is never
easy. They’ve all experienced both ups and downs and it somewhat challenged the
bond and trust in their friendship. Nevertheless, they’ve still outsmarted every hurdle
that comes along the way and it strengthens their relationship among one another.
Furthermore, a lot of moral lessons can be learned from this movie but one thing I
would like to give emphasis to is the importance of following what our heart truly
desires. In the movie, Fahran, one of the three idiots, pursued engineering not because
it is his passion but because of his father’s aspiration for him. Fahran’s ambition in
life is to become a wildlife photographer but he is afraid to defy his father because he
doesn’t want to be a disgrace in the family. However, in his last year as an
engineering student, he finally stood his ground and told his father that he is not going
to continue being a puppet anymore. Fortunately, his father understood and supported
his decision. Hence, it is important to fight for our dreams because it is the only thing
that keeps the  fire burning within our inside persona.
