Material
(CBLM) Package is simply a well-
designed and carefully developed
learning materials that give trainees
detailed instructions to guide them
through the learning process.
Competency-Based Learning
Materials (CBLM) refer to:
1. Media that contain information related to work
requirement;
2. Learning that is guided toward achieving the
competency required in a workplace;
3. Tools that facilitate individual learning process;
4. Instruments that measure the competency
required in the workplace.
Forms of Learning Materials
1. Learning guides,
2. Assessment materials,
3. Workbook with activities, tasks and content
4. Background reading materials or documents
5. Hand outs and other audio visual materials
6. Industry competency standards
7. Organizational policies, procedures or legislations
1. LEARNING GUIDES
The learning guide of your CBLM, is the labelled as
Learning Experience in your Templates, the task on
the Learning Experience are the Learning Activities
(Instructions of your Facilitators), this is your guide
throughout the Module.
2. ASSESSMENT/PRACTICE
After the reading information sheet, you will need to
practice, in order to gain confidence and finally
measure your learning.
3. INFORMATION SHEET/s
This part of the CBLM, is your main lessons to ready
in order to gain the knowledge part of your learning.
It contain, the information about your lessons.
4. BACKGROUND READING MATERIALS OR
DOCUMENTS
reading of related works in order to get contextual
information on a topic that you are intending to
study or write about.
5. HAND OUTS AND OTHER AUDIO VISUAL
MATERIALS
Handouts, especially maps, charts or tables, make
good visual aids.
Audio materials the materials thus include people,
anything which will produce a desired sound effect,
and musical instruments.
6. INDUSTRY COMPETENCY STANDARD
Industry competency models are descriptions
developed by the US Department of Labor (USDOL)
to establish the skills, knowledge, and abilities
required in growing industry sectors.
7. ORGANIZATIONAL POLICIES, PROCEDURES OR
LEGISLATION
Organisational policies and procedures provide
guidelines for decision making processes and the
way that work in an organisation should be carried
out. The result of having clear, well-written policies
and procedures are increased transparency,
accountability, uniformity and stability.
