    This document provides instructions for directly connecting to two types of Marelli 5SF ECUs used in Fiat vehicles. For type 01 ECUs, only a connection to the LINK 1 pins is needed to communicate in BOOT mode. For type 02 ECUs, a connection to both the LINK 1 and LINK 2 pins is required. Both connections must be removed before reinstalling the ECU in the vehicle.

    DIRECT CONNECTION
    To communicate in BOOT mode it is necessary to connect the 2 lay-by pins LINK 1.
    Remove the connection before to set back the ECU in the vehicle.

    DIRECT CONNECTION
    To communicate in BOOT mode it is necessary to connect the 2 lay-by pins LINK 1.
    It is also necessary make shortcircuit on the two ly-by pins of LINK 2
    Remove the connections before to set back the ECU in the vehicle.
