Subject: Submission of Internship Report

This report is in response to the instructions of your letter dated july , 2019 in which you

asked me to complete my internship in any organization. I have interned with National Rural

Support Program (NRSP) –Field unit Sehnsa Distt, Kotli for a period of 6 weeks i.e. from

July 15 to August 26 2019. I have prepared this report containing my findings, analysis,

conclusions and recommendations.

It would be pleasure for me to hear your comments after you have gone through this report.

Though while reading if you like to discuss any point with me, I shall be happy to do so at

Praise and Glory be to ALLAH, the most compassionate, the most merciful and beneficial of

entire universe, who gave me chance to do my internship at Azad Jammu & Kashmir

National Rural Support Programme. I am very thankful to the management of NRSP for

providing me the golden opportunity of working with them. I pay my wholehearted thanks to

Mr. Saber Wali, the General Manager of Training & Org. Development; for appointing me at

Kotli Divisional Office. I also pay my special thanks to Mr. Ali Akhtar for his sincere

suggestions, Mr. Asif for his co-operation. As an internee I found this working experience

interesting and challenging and I believe that this report would give the evidence for that.

 Executive Summary

The National Rural S upport Program was basically established by NRSP mostly speeded

over most of the parts of Kashmir and partially in other parts of the country. It offers the

social mobilization and a wide range of program such as long-term shoot women

development program, poverty reduction, saving and increasing income. So this program has

been proved itself very successful in providing a variety of services to the poor people for

their utilization to the maximum. National Rural Support Program (NRSP) as it has

multidimensional portfolio of development activities and have a rich exposure to financial

management. NRSP is a non-denominational development support agency established in

1991 by getting its conceptual package from successful implementation strategy of Agha

Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP).

As Institutional Development (ID) occupies a central position in NRSP’s Social

Development Programme, NRSP has achieved significant progress in it, mainly in the

formation and capacity building of Local Support Organizations (LSOs).

NRSP district office Kotli is one of the 56 districts whole over Pakistan and AJK in which

areas of Education, Health, Health & Hygiene, Human Resource Management, Micro HRM,

Small physical Infrastructure, Natural Resource Management and Human Rights and

Awareness Raising are being targeted. These projects have been implemented with the

financial assistance of PPAF, PAK Govt., USAID, Save the Children, UNICEF, WFP,

UNDP, Oxfam and etc. I practically observe that all projects are being implemented with

community participatory approach and Social Mobilization Strategy. A picture of some

achievements of NRSP Kotli is depicted in beneath table.

Main theme for preparing this report is to facilitate understanding about the daily functioning

of several departments of National Rural Support Program, which has opened up the new

horizons in the welfare program in the country. This summary will constitute a brief

introduction of the Support Program followed by some of my observation during the

internship, i.e. reflected in this report. The detail of different departments of the program has

been covered in length in report. This report also highlights the problem areas in the

respective departments basing upon the experience of this internship

Officer, Mr. Sabir Wali and Staff members of NRSP.This report have been made possible

through the assistance of many people whom I wish to recognize with great appreciation.

While working as internship trainee at NRSP I deeply indebted to the Management of

NRSP and Personnel at different departments for their cooperation’s they helped me as

much as possible during my Internship program. Last but not least my heartiest thanks to

all my sincere friends whose help and suggestions led me to the completion of this report.

I am also thankful to my friends who helped me a lot while completing this work.

Finally to all those who have helped I express my deepest gratitude.
