THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

Even before foreign convenience stores came to the philippines, there was a common convenience store
around just a couple of steps or even just besides every Filipinos doors. It was the Sari-Sari Store or the
small Neighbourhood variety Stores commonly managed by woman and senior citizens. Its convenience
was beyond exaggerration that someone can interrupt an emergency to buy something as immediately
as possible. Perhaps someone forgot an ingredient while cooking or forgot to buy soap or shampoo
while taking a bath." Sari-Sari” Store was a Filipino word for variety, it has different goods to sell
consisting household needs, common construction tools, make-up essentials , and even payment of
monthly bills . Despite of the opportunity , popularity and its presence for decades; majority of these
stores stayed not to grow but only exist and be sustainable.

Mostly, Filipino entrepreneurs are engage in retailing like Sari-sari stores that cover 90% of the retail
outlets. It facilitates the distribution of goods in the country. Sari sari stores have been part of any place
and one of it is Atimonan Quezon, tradition throughout the years because it provides the people's basic
needs where the people can buy piece by piece products in affordable prices since almost Filipinos
prefer buying commodities in mini sizes. It gives a clever way of selling consumer goods. That makes it
convenient for people who don't need or cannot afford the bundle of products. Sari-sari stores have also
become their source of living and opens up a bridge to be success, However, succeeding is not always a
rainbow. Some may undergo bumpy rides. Researchers have observed that other sari-sari stores are
having a hard time managing the business and some have stopped operating due to distinctive reasons.
Also researcher are curious what is way of sari-sari store be a profitable and what makes a sari-sari store
grow. Having enough knowledge on how to manage the business effectively gives them the capabilities
to efficiently deal with future challenges that they might have to face in running sari-sari stores to avoid
losses and business shutdown.

The research study aims to know the stability and continuity an evaluation of the level of development
of sari-sari stores in Barangay Kulawit in Atimonan, Quezon. The stability of sari- sari store and
continuity of the business. This study will know how can business like sari-sari store will develop! The
level of development of the business and what the owners will learn. By conducting a research the sari-
sari store, researcher will help owner to understand more their own business. In the other hand they
can also help other people that want to open up a business like a sari-sari store. Owners of sari-sari
stores will give some tips to those people who want to build their own sari-sari store in near future.
The sari-sari store become Philippines phenomenon common business for its very household goods at
afford portioned quantities, some sari-sari stores located at different street or barangay. Sari-sari store is
a part of the Filipino daily life living. Filipino builds their ownbusiness to earn more income even they're
working to their specific job. The more it seen in many places, the more we convince to know about the
business.

The researcher's target respondents will be owners of sari-sari stores in Barangay Kulawit. The study will
be conducted in the town of Atimonan Quezon.

The role of this study is to know the stability and continuity an evaluation of the level of development of
a suri-sari store. In terms in running the business, the researcher will help the owner. How sari-sari store
will develop as a business, they can understand more the daily needs and result of their own business.
This study will be benefiting the owners and the future entrepreneur.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to know stability and continuity an evaluation of the level of development of variety
stores in Barangay Kulawit, Atimonan, Quezon Specifically, this study seeks to answer the following.

1. What is the demographic Profile of the respondents in terms of

1.2 Gender,

1.3 Education Attainment.

2. What is the basis evaluation on sari-sari store by sustaining their daily survival in terms of

2.2 Owner's Behavior, and

2.3 Customer Satisfaction?

3. What is the level of development of a sari-sari store in terms of:

3.2 Product; and

3.3 Place?

HYPOTHESIS

The researchers of this study came up with the following null hypothesis. There is no significant
difference between the respondents demographic profile and stability and continuity an evaluation of
the level of development of sari - sari store in Barangay Kulawit Atimonan, Quezon when they are
grouped in terms of (a) Profit (b) Owners Behavior,and (c) Customer Satisfaction.

The paradigm present the input will focus on the basis stability on sari-sari store in terms

of, Profit. Owner's Behaviour and Customer Satisfaction and what the level of development of
sari-sari are in terms of Price, Product and Place. The researchers will emphasize the of the

aspect of the rising development of sari sari stores in Kulawit Atimonan, Quezon.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This research study was established to stability and continuity an evaluation of the level of

Development of Sari-Sari stores in Kulawit, Atimonan Quezon. The following may be benefited through

this study.

For the Entrepreneurs, Refers to the sari-sari store owners, this will help them know, the

knowledge about the development of their business to overcome challenges and the evaluation that

were identified in this study.

For the Future Entrepreneurs,This study will help them understand the side of the store owner

where they buy products to satisfy their daily needs and for them to avoid unreasonable demands and

complain without knowing the opposite side.

For the Customers, This will help them learn knowledge about the how to engage in a business

those. like sari-sari store and also learn some ways to overcome

as their reference for related research studies.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This study will focus on the evaluation of the level of development of sari-sari stores operating

in Barangay Kulawit Atimonan, Quezon. The respondents of the study are the owner of sari-sari store

owners residing at Barangay Kulawit in Atimonan Quezon.

The researchers will determine stability and continuity an evaluation of the level of

development of sari-sari stores by interviewing the respondents as an owner. Also, the researcher made

a questionnaire for this study.

DEFINITION OF TERMS
