NARRATOR:
On the occasion of ganesh chathurthi we would like to present a
small skit on birth of lord ganesha.
Lord Ganesha is known as the elder son of Lord Shiva and
Parvathi. There are many stories and legends about Lord
ganesha but the one which is very famous is the story of his own
birth.
Today we will tell you how the story took place.
In kailash Palace,which is he home of lord shiva and Parvathi.
One day when bored Shiva was not at home and mother
Parvathi was preparing for her bath, she thought I should tell
nandhi to guard the gate and she went outside and told.
PARVATHI:
Nandhi I’m going to take a bath do not let anyone enter the
palace until say you

NANDHI:
Yes, my mother I won't let anyone enter the palace and I will
guard at Gate.
NARRATOR:
Saying this Mother Parvati went inside and Nandi was at gate.
Soon Lord Shiva came to the palace.

NANDHI:
Oh! lord Shiva came now, what should I do as he is my master
and husband of mother Parvati I can't stop him. what should I
do.

NARRATOR:
By this time Shiva have already entered the palace.

NANDHI:
Oh ! Lord Shiva have already entered, If Mother Parvati gets to
know about this ,she will be very angry so ,let me run away…

NARRATOR :
saying this Nandi ran away from the palace .As soon as Mother
Parvati saw Lord Shiva, She Got very angry.
PARVATI:
This is very bad, how come nandhi disobey my words

SHIVA :
calm down Parvati, he is my gassa ,how can he stop me.

NARRATOR:
Hearing this Mother Parvati friend -Dasi gave her an idea

FRIEND 1 :
calm down mother. Nandhi is gana of shiva how can he Disobey
his master.

FRIEND 2:
yes mother she is correct. you have to find someone who is
brave enough and will obey your orders only.

NARRATOR:
So Mother Parvati decided to make a beautiful statue out of the
dirt from her body and spell some Magical Mantra to give life to
the sculpture. It turned outbinto a beautiful boy who was very
brave and intelligent too.

PARVATI:
from now my son Ganesha you will obey my orders only
GANESHA :
I will obey your orders only so what should I do

PARVATI:
my son take this sword and guard at the gate , don't allow
anyone to enter the palace.

GANESHA :
as you said mother no one will enter the palace

NARRATOR:
Ganesha was guarding at the gate, Shiva about to enter and
supri said to see someone guarding at the gate.

SHIVA:
oh seems like Parvati have appointed a Gona to guard the gate

GANESHA:
stop ,you cannot enter the palace

SHIVA:
Look, you don't know me.I am the owner of the palace. no one
can stop me
GANESHA :
whoever you may be. I will not allow you to enter the palace
until my mother Parvati gives permission

SHIVA :
This is not applicable to me I am the owner of the palace,
husband of Parvati. so just give me my way

GANESHA:
stop and go back

SHIVA :
Look boy your crossing your limits. behave yourself
otherwise…

NARRATOR:
Shiva placed his shole on ganesha's head.

SHIVA:
it would not be wise for me The Lord of universe to punish the
boy. I will go back and send ganas to make you understand

NARRATOR:
Lord Shiva was back and sent his ganas
GANAA 1:
I think this is the boy who misbehaved with our master. come
let's teach him a lesson

GANESHA :
who are you

GANAS 2:
we are the ganas of our master Lord Shiva. we are here to advise
you

GANESHA:
Oh hey has sent his ganas to advise me. tell is whoever maybe i
will not allow to enter the palace

NARRATOR:
Soon there was a fight between Ganesha and ganas. realizing
the power of ganesha both ganas ran away.
they narrated all this to lord shiva, shiva got furious and walked
back to the palace and ganesha head. hearing all these mother
parvathi comes out to check what was happening mother
parvathi. seeing his son. she become very angry and started
destroying everything in natuue. all the devi’s and devatha's are
worried about parvathi's action and think who can calm her
down. soon naratha appeared and all devathas decide to send
narartha to calm parvathi.
NARATHA:
Narayana,Narayana, calm down mother i have a solution ,
ganesha can be brought back to life if it is replaced with other
creative head . who's head is facing towards south direction
while sleeping

SHIVA:
Ganas go to the jungle and check which creature is facing south
direction while sleeping and bring its head

GANAS 1,2:
yes ,my lord

NARRATOR:
The ganas spotted elephant and cut it's head and brought to
palace.
shiva places the head in place in like this. Ganesha's head was
brought back. Mother Parvathi was very happy about getting his
son back.
