Future-proof Accountant
Scenario
You work for the AccountantsRus Corporation as the head of the accounting department. Your job is
to be creative when it comes to managing company resources.

During a convention on Finances 2.0 in Atlanta you were inspired by keynote speaker: Saifedean
Ammous and had an interesting discussion afterwards with the CFO of Microstrategy.

As head of accounting you feel that there are opportunities to be found in some of the block-chain
projects.

Your boss who was also present at the convention has requested you and your team to analyse
Saifedean Ammous’ book called The Bitcoin Standard.

Note: READ 5 chapters of the book/ Chapter 1 is compulsory.

1. Your Assignment: The Logbook

1. Analyse The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous.
2. Take notes in an organised manner that will serve as a sort of logbook where you can easily
find the things you deem important.
a. provide a context for your, e.g.: if you write down a name or concept, make sure the
readership understands what you mean.

e.g.: Nassim Nicholas Taleb => author => famous for x

So: Who, what, …

3. Min. 20 words/ concepts per chapter. Max. unlimited.

You can use an existing excel list.

2. Your Assignment: The Report

Part 1:

Write report highlighting the points that were important to you (max. 10 pages). Focus on things you
did not know, things you thought were life-changing. Do not merely summarise the book. Analyse its
contents and give your own insights.

Part 2:

Link the contents of the book to both important marketing moving events that have occurred during
this semester and concepts, names and terminology from the Money Path (cfr. Learning path).

(e.g.: BTC as a source of energy – Kevin O’Leary, Chamath, Buffet, etc.)

3. Your Assignment: Your TEDtalk

Hold a TEDtalk- like presentation in which you highlight the main points made by Saifedean – fill your
talk to the brim with need-to-knows and other intellectual gems.

If you felt that you did not learn anything from this book/ assignment, then you are requested to
write down/ mention the parts that annoyed you.

You can work individually or in groups of two. Every member is required to not read but ANALYSE 5
chapters, including chapter 1 of The Bitcoin Standard.

You will be required to answer questions about the book during your presentation.

In totaal zijn er 10 hoofdstukken waarvan we er 5 moeten lezen, de proloog is belangrijk. Daarna

moeten we het notebook invullen met minstens 20 woorden (er is geen maximum). We moeten ook
een verslag maken over de onderwerpen die we gelezen hebben en om het werk af te maken moeten
we een van de onderwerpen aan de klas presenteren.
