41 Individuals Linked to Cybersex Crimes Arrested

REFLECTION:

At least 41 people were arrested by the PNP’s anti-cybercrime group for the reason of
allegedly being connected to cybercrime syndicates in Batangas and in Valenzuela city.
The director of PNP’s ACG, PBGen Robert Rodriguez, reported to the PNP chief, Gen
Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar that the arrested suspects have been fronted as call centre
representatives in commercial establishments in Paso de Blas, Valenzuela, Lipa City in
Batangas, and in a residential area in Sto. Tomas Batangas.

The authorities were tipped by a concerned citizen who have noticed suspicious
activities in the aforementioned area through E-ACCESS or the Enhanced, Anti-
Cybercrime Campaign Education, Safety, and Security. Through the conducted
investigation, it was discovered that members of the LGBTQ community were
victimised.

This victimisation was through offering massage services which they can avail by paying
a registration fee of approximately PHP2540.23. Armed with Warrants to Search, Seize,
and Examine Computer data, the authorities have found desktop computers that were
turned over for digital forensic examination. The arrested suspects are now facing
charges for the violation of Republic Act 10175 also known as the Cybercrime
Prevention Act of 2012 and are under the custody of the Valenzuela City Police Station,
Lipa City Police Station and Sto. Tomas Police Station.
