EXT – A MEDIUM SIZED TOWN HOMED TO MANY RESIDENTS. – DAY

It’s mid – day and Sasha was invited to a party by her friend.
She is heading there now but has no idea what to expect as it
is her first time. She is very nervous and is dressed in
casual looking clothes.

A panning shot moving towards Sasha while she walks along.

Sasha walks along the path, her hands beside her hips while
she is waiting for a text message from her friend so they can
meet up beforehand.

Sasha feels her phone vibrate, she reaches to take her phone
out of pocket and sits down on a bench, almost seeming lost.

The text message reads: “Sorry, but I can’t make it, a family
emergency came up, hope you enjoy the party though.”

Sasha
(Sigh)
What a coincidence.

Sasha gets off the bench and continues to walk down

the street.

EXT - A DINGY, DODGY PART OF TOWN THAT ISN’T WELL KNOWN, WHICH
IS USUALLY WHERE MOST CRIMES OCCUR. – DAY

Sasha glances up at the building supposedly where the party is

being held, though it doesn’t look very pleasurable.

She knocks on the door of the building.

Freya
(Opens the door)
 Hello?

Sasha
Is this Seb’s party?

Freya
(Tilts head)
Yes, who are you exactly?

Sasha
I’m one of James' friends,
he invited me.

Freya
Oh James. Where is he?

Sasha
Things came up at the last minute,
I wasn’t sure what though.

Freya
Oh, that’s a shame, come inside though.

Sasha
(Sasha nods and walks inside.)

INT – A CROWDED SMALL DARK ROOM LIT WITH MULTICOLOURED LIGHTS.

– DUSK

Sasha and Freya stand next to each other, keeping away from
other groups of people.

Freya
My name's Freya by the way, nice
to meet you.
 Sasha
I’m Sasha.

Freya
(Shrugs)
To be honest I don’t know many people
here, I’ve just been a friend of Becca’s
since childhood.

Sasha
I only know James but he isn’t here so I
feel like I should just go home.

Seb
(Walks over)
Are you Sasha? James mentioned he was
bringing a plus one?

Sasha
Yeah I am.

Seb
(Seb puts his arm round Sasha and
drags her towards a group of people)
Don’t be nervous, you’ll fit right in.

Sasha
I don’t know, I think I should just head
home.

Seb
Why? Don’t leave the party is just getting
started.
(Pushes Sasha towards the group
of people)

Isabelle
Who’s this then?
 Seb
James plus one, but he couldn’t make it
So Sasha is by herself.

Isabelle
Oh right, do you know when your dealer is
delivering the stuff?

Seb
Should be soon, hopefully.

Isabelle
It’s been ages, maybe he got caught up in
things?

Seb
He messaged me like five minutes ago
saying he’d be on his way.

Isabelle
Oh okay then.

Sasha
What are you guys talking about?

Seb
You’ll see soon.

INT – A CROWDED SMALL ROOM LIT WITH MULTICOLOURED LIGHTS –

NIGHT – LATER

Seb
(Walks over)
I finally got the stuff.
 Isabelle
That took ages.

Seb
Not like I could get it here any quicker.
(Seb takes out some type of pills and
gives everyone each one, they all
take them except Sasha)

Sasha
(Looking down at the pill)

Seb
(Looks over at Sasha’s hand to see
she hasn’t taken it)
What’s the problem, you scared or
something?

Sasha
I just don’t like these sort of
things, from what I’ve heard
they’re dangerous.

Isabelle
Don’t be a pussy, it’s harmless.

Sasha
From what I’ve heard it’s not safe.

Seb
Yeah well I take it almost every
other day and I’m fine.

Isabelle
Just take this one, we’re
experienced.

Sasha
I don’t know.
(Looks down at her hand where the
pill lies)

Freya
(Freya approaches the group)
Can I talk to you Sasha?

Sasha
Yeah of course.
(Sasha walks off with Freya)

Freya
You don’t have to take
that if you don’t want too, it’s not
their choice.

Sasha
Yeah but I feel like I don’t fit in.

Freya
That’s not true.

(Seb and Isabelle approach)

Seb
Don’t be boring Sasha, if you can’t
take at least one then I don’t see
how you’re even friends with James.

(Everyone gathers behind Sasha

as they wait for her to take it,
and as she feels embarrassed she
 takes the pill.)

Sasha
There, happy now?

Isabelle
See, it wasn’t that hard was it?

(They all go back to partying

like usual)

Freya
Why would you give in?

Sasha
I was really nervous and this is
my first time.

Freya
It’s not your fault, just
let me know if you start to feel strange.

Sasha
(Sasha nods her head)
Okay, thank you.

INT - A CROWDED SMALL ROOM LIT WITH MULTICOLOURED LIGHTS -

NIGHT - CONTINUOUS (Five minutes)

Sasha
I think I need to go home.
I feel really sick.

Freya
Do you need me to call someone?
 Sasha
I’ll be fine.

Freya
Okay well you have my number if you
need me.

Sasha
See you later.
(Sasha gets up and begins to walk
to the door when suddenly she grows
dizzy and passes out in the middle
of the floor)
