personal wellness through completion of physical activities and
other course content which concentrate on the enhancement of overall
health. The Wellness 1200 course, taught within a Personal-Global
Curriculum orientation, will not only concern with the physiological
components of physical fitness, but also with the knowledge of how
these components are affected by physical activity, the impact of
“body ideals” in the culture, and the emotional, social and
spiritual aspects of being well.
Conclusion:
After reading the said book, the curriculum models was based and
adapted from the Jewett and Bain (1985) outline seven physical
education curriculum models to come up with the prescribed program
design for elementary, secondary and senior high school physical
education. For primary / elementary they used the personal meaning
model to address the needs of every learner. In the Intermediate
level focused on the teaching-learning process in their Humanistic
model wherein the learners develop self-actualization, and self-
understanding and self-control. While in Senior High school Physical
education focused on the philosophy of Personal-Global Orientation
Framework wherein the learners developed self-actualization through
involvement in self-selected meaningful experiences they encountered.
