Aida, the princess of Nubia, and Radames, the general of Egypt falls in love. Even though Radames
is engaged to Amneris, the princess of Egypt due to his father’s wishes, he cares for Aida deeply. One
day, Radames’ army captures the king of Nubia. Aida plans to get him out on Radames’ wedding day
with Amneris. Radames finds out and eventually helps her. In the end, they are executed for treason.

I think people who like tragic love stories are the audience of this musical. Also, people who want to
see well-made emotional conflicts and dilemmas. This musical is abundant of those factors and
makes the audience immerse into the characters.

The lesson of this musical is that war shouldn’t happen. I learned that conquering other countries and
making their people suffer is morally wrong.

My favorite part of Aida was when Aida met her Nubian people and accepted her role as their leader.
The dance and harmony were astonishing and lively.
