FUEL RECEPTACLE INSTALLATION:

NOTE: Check to see if Steps 1-3 have previously been accomplished.

If so, start at Step 4.

1. Using a #9 drill bit, drill out four rivets in the left float top skin and gear actuator channel
where indicated in Figure 6.1.

2. Install nutplates (MS21059L3) in gear tunnel at four removed rivet holes.

3. Use Figure 6 to locate mounting location of support bracket (1005817). Ensure vertical
flange of support bracket is on forward side when mounted. Drill out four rivets for
mounting and mount bracket using rivets (MS20470AD).

4. Back drill two vertical holes in support bracket through float top deck skin.

5. Attach the rear bracket (1005819) to the receptacle (100441) with bolts (AN4-4A) and
washers (NAS1149F0463P) as shown in Figure 6.2.

NOTE: Perform the following steps with pylon installed on float to ensure
alignment.

6. Place the template (1005966) on the outside skin of the left float pylon, aligning 19
holes on the template with existing rivets on the pylon, as shown in Figures 6.3 and
6.3A.

Using the template, drill the following holes through the outboard skin only of the pylon
(see Figure 6.3A):
11 rivet holes with a #30 drill bit
6 screw clearance holes with a #7 drill bit
3.44 in Ø fuel receptacle hole

7. Attach bracket (1005818) to the float pylon skin using rivets (MS20470AD4-4) in the
holes drilled in step 1, and PR1422. Ensure good seal between bracket and skin, this is
a liquid sealing surface.

8. Mount bracket to float top skin using bolts (AN3-5A) and washers (NAS1149F0332P)
with the nutplates installed in Step 2.

9. Assemble the refueling adaptor, o-ring, receptacle and rear bracket assembly to
support bracket as shown on in Figure 6.

Attach the rear bracket (1005819) and the support bracket (1005817) to the float top
skin using bolts (AN3-5A), washers (NAS1149F0332P) and nuts (MS21044N3).

Attach the refueling adaptor (MS24484-5) to the receptacle (1004441) using screws
(MS24694557 and MS24694554) and sandwiching the 2 o-rings, the plyon skin, and
the bracket.

10. Attach hose assembly (1004437-04) to the receptacle using fitting (AN816-16D).
Thread hose through float strut ribs as shown in Figure 6.4.

11. If installed, remove single point refuel bracket assembly from side skin of aircraft and
disconnect hose from receptacle fitting.

12. Connect hose (1004437-04) to hose (1004437-01) using fitting (AN815-16D).

13. Install bracket (1005976) to top two mounting bolts on aft pylon structure as shown in
Figure 6.5.

14. Install bracket (1008242) to existing forward receptacle mounting holes on side of
fuselage using bolts (AN3-5A top, bottom) (AN3-6A center), and two washers (AN970-
3) as needed to shim. Clamp hose to bracket using adel clamp (MS21919WDG20).
(Forward set of holes used for mounting landplane fueling receptacle bracket.)

15. Trim lower portion of bracket to allow hose to be secured to bracket and route directly
under outboard landing gear cap bolt. Clamp hose to bracket using adel clamp
(MS21919WDG20).

16. Install new placard (1004449) above pylon refueling receptacle as shown in Figure 6.5.

17. Perform leak check of installed plumbing and receptacle.
