INTRODUCTION

Education is not simply a content delivery system; rather, it is a system

designed to help all children reach their full potential and enter society as full and

productive citizens. A quality education provides resources and directs policy to

ensure that each learners enters school healthy and learns about and practices a

healthy lifestyle; learns in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe for

students and adults; is actively engaged in learning and is connected to the school and

broader community; has access to personalized learning and is supported by qualified,

caring adults; and is challenged academically and prepared for success in college or

further study and for employment and participation in a global environment.

Further, the current and emerging issues and trends impacting education

includes the socially and culturally responsive teaching, teacher resiliency, trauma

responsive classrooms, differentiation, student stress and mental health, grit, emerging

technologies, flexible classrooms, and cultivating creativity with emphasis on

developing, analyzing, and clarifying beliefs and practices as they relate to education.

Students of this course was able to discover the major emerging local and national

issues and trends in education and their potential impact on society and schools which

reflect and critically evaluate the current issues and trends in education. Further,

students were able to equip themselves with the necessary tools and techniques used

in the process of education and use them effectively. Lastly, leadership skills were

developed as necessary to address the potential controversy likely to emerge from

these issues and trends.

II. BODY OF THE ESSAY

As a graduate student of Educational Management, I have learned most in this

subject is the emerging educational reforms in the Philippines, the efforts did the

Philippine Government do to improve the educational system in the country, and the

biggest problem facing our educational system. There are various factors that affects

the educational system in the Philippines.

First is the lack of schools an access to adequate financial resources necessary

to create schools. Providing schooling materials along with recruiting and training

teachers cost money, and aid from fellow countries generally is not sufficient enough

to establish an education system for all children.

Second, is a low value of education – Many times in remote areas of the

world, children who belong to the indigenous population are more trained at finding

food and livelihood for themselves rather than focusing on education. Due to this,

they are never taught the value and importance of education.

Third, the geographical location is not ideal for schooling – This includes

things like severe weather conditions, rough terrain and lack of transportation.

Fourth, many families cannot afford school and are oftentimes forced into

child labor – Over 300 million children between the ages of five and 17 years are

engaged in employment worldwide. Most of these children work to financially

support their families making child labor a significant contributor to high numbers of

them being out of school.

Fifth, minority groups are often excluded or forgotten – Specific groups find

themselves marginalized while their children are deprived of education opportunities.

This tends to happen either because of passive under investment by the government in

particular geographies where the ethnic minorities are concentrated or because of

active discrimination. Lastly, the conflict within a country overruns the opportunities

for education.

Aside from the learning insights, there are also difficulties encountered during

the class sessions which led to the popularity of other systems of education or

learning. One such system of learning is online education or online classroom. It is an

undeniable fact that there are many benefits that students can get by opting for online

education or online classroom. However, there are also different challenges that are

faced by students while trying to study in an online classroom such as announced

power interruptions which leads to students delayed submission and non-attendance to

online classes and unable to complete the assignment at the right time.

III. CONCLUSION

In conclusion, current trends of education is greatly affected by various factors

which tends to affect the delivery of quality basic education. Throughout the learning

process, I was able to understand that educational reforms aim for better quality and

access to education which enable us to learn from others, and grow in new ways, &

open up to new opportunities. Also , I was able to study problems and issues which

cut across national boundaries and the interconnection of culture, environment,

economic, political and technological systems

Further, the emerging trends in the 21st century education, and how the

convergence of media and technology in a global culture is changing the way we learn

about the world and challenging the very foundations of education.
