2017 Shootfighting:

Shootfighting
This "no holds barred" style is popular in japan, and
also in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Currently professional shootfighting consists only of a


heavyweight (200 pound and over) division. But there
are lighter divisions for amateur competitors. Pro
matches run 30 minutes non-stop, amateurs 10
minutes. Held inside a standard wrestling ring,
competitors are allowed to kick, knee or elbow any Shootfighting
part of the body except the groin, as well as head Special Manuevers
butts. Punches are allowed to the body. Since no Punch
gloves are worn to facilitate wrestling, punches are not Head Butt (1 pts.)
allowed to the head, though open-hand palms, slaps Hundred Hand Slap (5 pts.)
and chops are. Any type of throw or takedown is legal Shoot Upper (2 pts.)
and competitors are allowed to hit a downed Kick
opponent. Additionally, any type of joint-lock is legal Shoot Kick (4 pts.)
as are chokes against the side of the neck. The only Tiger Knee (4 pts.)
fouls consist of punches to the face, eye gouges, Stepping Front Kick (4 pts.)
techniques against the windpipe and groin strikes. Wounded Knee (2 pts.)
Fights are won when a competitor is knocked down Block
for a ten-count, knocked down five times or forced to Grab
submit. A fighter caught in a submission hold may grab Disengage (1 pts.)
the ropes to break the hold but this counts as 1/3 of a Improved Pin (2 pts.)
knockdown. Grab the ropes 15 times and you lose. Knee Basher (2 pts.)
Bouts that go the full time limit are declared a draw. Neck Choke (1 pts.)
American martial art legends like Bill Wallace and Joe Pin (2 pts.)
Lewis have called shootfighting the ultimate fighting Sliding Arrow (2 pts.)
style for self-defense. Suplex (1 pts.)

Groundfighting (2 pts.)
the increasing popularity, schools like "The Lions Den"
