Hip-hop Competition

Guidelines:
1. Each participating program must have 10-15 members composed of students from
different year levels.
2. Participants will be given the opportunity to block their routine on stage an hour before
the competition. Those who are absent/late for their designated blocking time will not be
allowed to block on stage at a later time.
3. A panel of judges shall determine the winners based on the foregoing criteria. Any
violation of the foregoing rules may cause 3 points deduction per violation on the final
score. The decision of the panel shall be final and irrevocable.
4. Performance order will be determined by the council via drawing of lots.

Mechanics:
1. The participating program must prepare a music of their choice. The duration of the
dance should be a minimum of 3 minutes and maximum of 5 minutes.
2. Any forms of acts that support nudity, violence, lasciviousness, and the likes are
prohibited.
3. Any kind of hip hop dance is allowed (locking, popping, krump, house, stepping,
breakdance, wacking, tutting, vogueing, party dances, hip hop choreography) or any kind
of dance with hip hop as their focal thought of choreography, provided that the
choreographers of the group have the proper knowledge or background to execute it
properly.
4. Costumes are allowed, but must be decent.
5. All costume malfunctions resulting from team members being exposed are grounds for
deductions. Please make sure to have dress rehearsals prior to competition to work out
any costume problems.

7. Submission of the music must be on or before November 30, 2022 (11:00 PM).

8. The hip hop competition will be scored according to the following criteria:

Choreography 40%
(Creativity, Variety of Dance Styles &
Difficulty)

Performance 40%
(Musicality, Group Execution,
Synchronization & Spacing)

Overall Effect 20%


(Showmanship, Intensity, Projection, &
Attire)

Total 100%
