1. What is TEFL Approach? What is the benefit of learning TEFL Approach?
Answer:
The TEFL approach is a way of looking at learning and teaching. Underlying every
approach to language teaching is a theoretical view of what language is, and how it
can be learned. An approach brings up a method, a way of teaching something, that
uses classroom activities or techniques to help learners learn.
The benefit:
- The TEFL approach provides comprehensive discretion; Learning becomes more
focused because in this approach it establishes general rules or general principles
to enable learning.
- Enables teachers to develop, create, and implement, using their own unique way
of teaching procedures (methods).
- Learning becomes more interesting and effective.
2. What do you think the best approach of TEFL that fits you when you become a
teacher?
Answer:
As a teacher I will use The Communicative Approach, also known as communicative
language teaching (CLT), because it emphasizes interaction and problem solving as
both a means and an end in learning English - or any language. Thus, he tends to
emphasize activities such as role playing, pair work, and group work.
3. How will you integrate character education in your teaching?
Answer:
The main character values that must be manifested in the attitudes and behavior of
students as a result of the character education process, for example honest, intelligent,
tough, and caring. The integration of character education in learning can be done by
loading character values in all subjects taught in schools and in the implementation of
learning activities. For this reason, teachers must prepare character education from
planning, implementation, to evaluation. The implementation of character education
in schools needs to be supported by the example of teachers and parents as well as a
culture of character.
4. How will you integrate technology to your teaching?
Answer:
In order to take advantage of various media on technology and information devices,
teachers can present information/teaching materials in more varied and interesting
forms (not only text) so that students understand the lesson more easily. For example,
the use of vlogs and video tutorials on YouTube, the use of power point is an
alternative learning media that is integrated with technology. Teachers are always
innovative and creative in choosing learning media that are in line with technological
advances and the times. Learning media that is integrated with technology makes
learning move students active, creative, and encouraging individually and in groups.
5. What are your strategies to motivate students in the shift between pandemic and
post pandemic era?
Answer:
First, increase the ability of teachers to improve the quality of learning. Learning that
has good quality will produce good learning outcomes as well. Then, the selection of
the right learning method will also increase student learning motivation and student
interest in learning so that a pleasant learning atmosphere will be created. Maximizing
learning facilities. In the learning process, the use of good learning qualities also
determines learning motivation in the learning process. Take advantage of the use of
media. Students' learning motivation in learning can be increased by utilizing the use
of interesting media, so that it will make students interested in learning.
