Undazzled by police, BEM SI make sure April 11th’s keep on the move

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Seluruh Indonesia (BEM SI) will make
sure the big rally that will be carried out in front of the ISTANA NEGARA on Monday
(11/4/2022) will continue.
Media coordinator BEM SI luthfi Yufrizal made sure the student was undaunted even though
he had been given the threat of action by the police.
“This (threats of dissolution) is one attempt to intimidate the students. But we’re not
affected. April 11th March will go on,” luthfi told compas.com, Saturday (9/4/2022).
Luthfi confirmed that it had already qualified to stage the protests. Because, BEM SI has filed
an notice with the METRO JAYA police. The notification was sent and received by metro jaya
police on Friday (8/4/2022) yesterday at 1pm.
However, luthfi deplored the suppression of the policemen’s threatening protests. Aside
from being a form of intimidation, making a statement means that police do not understand
the freedom to make public opinion in Undangan-undangan no. 9 tahun 1998.
“Because the demonstration clearly doesn’t require a permit, but a notification,” says luthfi.
In April 11th, the students will submit a number of demands to President Joko Widodo. In
general, there are six points of demand in action down that road.
“First, urgent and demand that President joko widodo flatly refuse and give a statement on
the delay of the 2024 elections or third period, while very clearly betraying the constitution
of the state,”.
Second, Jokowi sues and reassures the constitution of the state (UU IKN), including the
problematic chapters and the effects of environmental, legal, social, ecological, political,
economic, and transitory aspects.
Third, Jokowi urges and demands that the price stabilise and keep the supply of basic
material on the market.
Fourth, urgent and demand that Jokowi thoroughly investigate the Fried oil Mafia and
evaluate the performance of the his cabinet.
Fifth, urgent and demand that Jokowi solve the agrarian conflict in Indonesia.
The final charge, demanding and urging Jokowi-Maruf Amin is fully committed to completing
the campaign’s promises for the rest of the term.
“We are not here to overthrow (jokowi), we insist that students stand up as opposition, as
government supervisors and policy controllers, because today the opposition is weak.” Say
Coordinator at BEM SI kaharuddin.
He asserted that this demonstration was not mounted by any political stronghold, but it was
pure aspirations from the various areas students absorbed to be presented to the
authorities.
