Feed Formulation
Feed Formulation is a least cost feed formulation software which is free and which requires no
installation.

Feed Formulation is a simple and practical Feed Formulation software with a user friendly user interface. A
person with basic knowledge can easily use this software.

There are different requirements for different users so Feed Formulation comes with two functions Optimize
& Analysis.

Optimize : Feed Formulation uses Linear Programming for optimizing Feed Formulation at Least Cost.

Analyse : Least Cost Formulation may sometimes give impractical results, for this limitation Feed
Formulation has got an Analyze Tool (Trial & Error Method). This will calculate and show the Nutrients Values
and the Formula Cost on entering the Ingredients Quantity and Rate. This process can be done till you get a
desired result.

Suitable for Egg Producers, Broilers, Nutritionist, Hatcheries, Feed Manufacturers, etc.,

It's only requirement is that Microsoft's .net 2.0 should be present on the system on which this is going to be
used. This can be run from USB memory drives which are easy to carry. The menus are very use to use and are
self explanatory.

Here each menu is described

1. Animal Types Here one is going to mention type of animals. Example : Layers, Broilers, Sheep, Pigs,
Fish, etc.,
2. Feed Types Here one is going to mention different feed types for each type of animal. Example :
Chick, Grower, Layer1, Layer2, Layer3 for Layers
3. Ingredients Here one is going to mention the Name of the Ingredients and their Rate. Example :
Maize, Soya, Jowar, Fish, Sunflower etc.,
4. Nutrients Here one is going to mention Nutrient Names and their Units. Example : Energy,
Protein, Fat, Fiber, Lysine, etc.,
5. Nutritional Here one is going to mention Nutrient Values for each Ingredient.
     Composition
6. Ingredients Here one is going to select Ingredients which are used for a particular animal type.
     Selector Selection of Ingredients is done 'cause not all ingredients are used for all the animals.
7. Nutrients Here one is going to select Nutrients which are to be calculated for a particular animal
     Selector type. Selection of Nutrients is done 'cause not all nutrients values are used for all the
animals.
8. New Feed Here one is going to create New Feed Formulation.
     Formulation First select the Animal Type for which you would like formulation to be done.
Next, select the Feed Type.
Next, select the Date on which you are formulating.
Next select Task Optimize for Least Cost Feed Formulation, or Analyze to create your
own formula.
Next select the weight of the feed formula.
Next, if you want mention any comments you can do so in the Remarks field.
Next, if it Optimization then on can change the values of the Minimum/Maximum
Quantity and the Rate of an Ingredient. One is not allowed to change the Quantity value
has it is a calculated value. You can give the Minimum/Maximum values of a nutrient
which is to got. If you want to include an Ingredient which is not present in this formula
you can add it by clicking the add button. After mentioning your requirements click on
the OPTIMIZE button
and it will give you the solution. If the solution is not found you
will get a message, then you can change the bounds and optimize it once again.

If you do not want least cost formulation as you already know the formula and you want
to know only the nutrient values of the given formula select Analyze and mention
Quantity of the ingredients and by clicking the Analyze button you will be shown the
nutrient values.

To Save this formulation for future reference, click on the Save button.
9. List of Feed Here you will be shown all the saved Formulations. Here select the animal type to see
     Formulas the formulation saved for that particular animal. Then select Double click on the Feed
Formulation from the list to see the Ingredient present in that formula. On clicking the
Formulate button the nutrient values for this formula will be displayed. To get a print
out of this you can click on the Print button.
