EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

I did my six-week survey on topics such as digital literacy, water pollution, an

awareness program and organic farming in the village named Lankapeta. In my first
week of survey on digital literacy, I collected information regarding the details of
family members and types of electronic devices they are using and the level of the
digital literacy rate in a particular house in the village.   At the end of the survey, I
came to know that many of the family members didn’t have any idea about the usage
of social media platforms.

In the second week, I collected information about water facilities available in the
village and problems faced by the people. In the process of data collection on water
facilities we found that there are only two methods available to get access to drinking
water. However, it was found that the fluorine level was more, which led to different
tooth-related and bone diseases. For example, tooth discoloration and fragile bones.
There is no proper maintenance of the areas where the water is available and this
stagnated water is favourable for mosquito breeding which, thus, act as a vector for
various diseases like Dengue, Malaria, etc.

In the third week, we visited ZPH high school and took permission from the head
master to conduct an awareness program about community service. We briefly gave
an interaction about community services and the categories it includes. We conducted
a creative story writing competition for the 8th grade students where they had to come
up with their own story in 30 minutes of time. The top 3 students were awarded with
some exciting gifts. At the end of the session, I took feedback about the session and
received a positive response from them.

In my fifth week, I collected details about the people who are eligible and
ineligible for government schemes from sachivalayam. In my sixth week, I collected
details about 8 families who adopted organic farming, out of which I have collected
data from 5 families. It was found that they grow these to fulfil their personal needs
and not for commercial purposes. To raise these organic crops these families used
small plot of land. Hence with less investment the get fruitful sum of profits.

In the second week, I collected information about water facilities available in the
village and problems faced by the people. In the third week, we visited ZPH high
school and took permission from the head master to conduct an awareness program
about community service.

In my fourth week, I collected details about covid vaccination and in my fifth week, I
collected details about the people who are eligible and ineligible for government
schemes from sachivalayam. In my sixth week, I collected details about 8 families
who adopted organic farming, out of which I have collected data from 5 families. It
was found that they grow these to fulfil their personal needs and not for commercial

Objective of the Activity Done:

Detailed Report:

Organic farming is a method of crop and livestock production that involves

much more than choosing not to use pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified

 Relatively-low yield
There are total of 8 families who adopted organic farming, out of which I have
collected data from 5 families. It was found that they grow these to fulfil their
personal needs and not for commercial purposes. To raise these organic crops these
families used small plot of land. Hence; with less investment the get fruitful sum of
profits
