AJE the ORISA OF WEALTH

The goddess Aje appears within Yorùbá mythology as a patroness of trade and economic
prosperity. The following Oríkì (praise poem) is addressed to Aje andì also describes the ways in
which wealth affects human affairs. The oríkì is followed by a chant to invoke the spirit of the
Orisha as part of an enchantment for money. Money in this context is in the form of cowrie shells
(cowries were an instrument of payment and exchange throughout western Africa until the
nineteenth century and remain a symbol of wealth).

Aje, supreme god of wealth.

Benevolent provider of all human needs

Owner of 1400 ado (1)

Aje turns the wise man into a fool

And makes a fool of the wise man.

Aje, supreme god of wealth.

Benevolent provider of all human needs

An elder giving imperious orders

Without the backing of cowries (2)

Is like a dog in the path howling without meaning.

Aje, supreme god of wealth.

Benevolent provider of all human needs

The only master that calls

To whom all respond.

The white man pitching a tent in the bush

Is an adventurer driven by bad luck. (3)

Aje, supreme god of wealth.

Benevolent provider of all human needs

Who elevates a youth to the rank of elder

And turns the elder into a youth (4)

Aje! Aje! You are the father in the house,

You are the father at the farm

You are the father of all the hidden and open places. (5)

Aje, supreme god of wealth.

Benevolent provider of all human needs

You made a servant into a king

Aje! Aje! Aje! Benevolent provider of all human needs

Husband of six hundred wives.

Chant to invoke the spirit of Aje.

Aje’s leaf commands you to observe me and dance (6)

Young palm shoots tell you to observe me and rejoice (7)

“It is I, It is I,” shouts the parrot to the forest, (8)

“It is I, It is I,” sings Aluko till it reaches its nest (9)

“It is I, It is I,” sings Odidere to Iwo townsmen, descendants of River Oba, (10)

“Who carried the calabash of wealth from heaven to earth.”

No chief dared use any leaf for bestowing honors but the Akoko (11)

Honor and worship unto Aje, peaceful cowries

Peaceful cowries come to my house in earnest.

Earnestly come and smile on me

Earnestly, earnestly come and live with me.

It is you Aje who commanded me, the son of Aje

“That when I labor, I shall make money”

“And though I do not labor, I shall make money” (12)

Therefore, I implore you to smile upon me.

The house rats consume other people’s money (13)

The chameleon wraps himself in other people’s clothes (14)

“It is I, It is I,” shouts the parrot to the forest,

“It is I, It is I,” sings Aluko till it reaches its nest

Aje! Aje! supreme god of wealth.

Aje is an Orisa and one of the 401+ Irunmole that we worship that provides us
with wealth, blessings and prosperity. This Orisa assists accumulating wealth
and hinders the demise of a person's economic growth. Aje literally means
wealth who is an Orisa within the Yoruba spiritual patheon. Olóòkun is also the
parent of Aje and as mentioned before the Orisa of great wealth that resides at
the bottom of the ocean. We Isese L’agba practitioners praise Olóòkun for the
ability to give great wealth, health and prosperity to us all. However, the main
function of Aje is to provide plentiful wealth and greater economic benefits for
her followers. Aje is the only daughter of Olóòkun who respects Aje. For this is
the reason Aje at times is referred as Aje Olóòkun. Therefore it is imperative to
praise Aje before getting a favor from Olóòkun. We find Aje in the ocean as owo
eyoo or cowries. Owo Eyoo were our form of money prior to the present forms of
paper currencies.

Benefits of Possessing Aje

Aje provides wealth for her devotees in a very exclusive yet natural way. This
Orisa of wealth blesses her devotees beyond their mates and companions in
anything they do. Essentially, anyone with Aje will be blessed by the Orisa. We
also praise Aje through specific physical representation and there must be a
significant task the person is conducting that Aje Olóòkun is expected to bless
plentifully. Ultimately meaning, Aje only assists people who help themselves.

In Yoruba culture and spirituality Orisa Aje is known as the female offspring of Olokun. Hence Orisa Aje
has been referred to as Aje Olokun, better put in Ifa spiritual parlance Aje Olokun Seni Ade. It is believed
in Yoruba spirituality that Orisa Aje is the spiritual energy that is in charge and control of creation and
maintenance of wealth. It is deemed to be the spiritual energy and force in charge of trade, commerce,
finance and other economic and financial related activities. It is believed that the spiritual energy of Orisa
Aje is feminine. As a result of the importance of the nature of this Orisa energy. From time immemorial
people have always tried to create a nexus between them and Orisa Aje to be able to live a life free from
financial stress.
The method to achieve this is through veneration or consecration of Orisa Aje element. Usually this
element is usually in term of consecrated cowries, sea shell, gold coins or any form of coins or even
paper currency, or any durable items that have been used has symbol for exchange of value at any period
of time in the history of human being can be consecrate as symbol of Orisa Aje element.
How does Orisa Aje Energy Works?
In my years of practice, It have taken me a lot effort to explain what Orisa Aje represent and how it work
to people, ranging from clients, even to most practicing Babalawo and Ifa devotees regardless of age
whether Young or Old, some don’t know how this element work, It is not their fault anyway, your age or
religion orientation will not tell you what you don’t know, only the knowledge and experience of it will. Most
people usually believe the Orisa Aje element is all about you seeing free money or currency at your home
or getting the money you don’t work for. I am using this medium to tell you that Orisa Aje energy is not
Ogun Owo(The popular Money ritual).

Orisa Aje is just a facilitator of wealth creation that will make you experience spiritual buoyancy and
prosperity based on the service or value you can offer for the benefit of other human beings in return for
money they will give you. What the element will do is to make your fellow human being to deal in the way
you want to deal so that money can flow from them to you in exchange of value, goods or service you will
offer them which will be of benefit to them. Hence items normally used for consecration and making of Aje
element as always be anything that is used as a symbol of exchange such as cowries, minted coins, sea
shells, durable paper currency etc.

A genuine Babalawo must not be involved in using human being for ritual or money making
ritual which is the trending thing in most spiritual practice in today's world, those who do such
and claim they are Babalawo are either fraudster who hide under the guise of Ifa spirituality to
perpetrate evil, and they are cursed. Dont deal with them they are evil and evil will follow them
and those who deal with them, either they call their selves Babalawo, alfa-muslim cleric or woli
–prophets or pastor, evil will always follow the evil doer in whateever guise they use to practice
it. So Orisa Aje will not bring cash notes on your table unless you have a business venture or
work you engage in, no free money anywhere don’t be deceived.
How do I know that I am in need of Orisa Aje Element?

The truth is that anybody who has attained the age that knows the use of money can have the Orisa Aje
element. But in most cases It can be revealed to some people through Idafa (Ifa consultation that they
need to venerate or have Aje element). And many people do voluntarily ask for Orisa Aje elements for
their personal use or their business.
Who Can Have Orisa Aje Element?
The truth is that anybody can have an Orisa Aje element. Business owners, individual people, religious
organizations such as churches or mosques, temples, shrines etc. Though in recent times most serial
internet fraudsters do have Aje Element to aid their work (it is instructive to note that what you sow you
will reap). But since Orisa Aje does not discriminate, anybody in any field or calling can have Orisa Aje
element for their financial advancement in whatever they do. No age, race, color, religion or gender
barriers in having Orisa Aje elements.
Who can prepare a consecrated Orisa Aje Element?
Only a competent genuine Babalawo with sound knowledge of Odu Ifa and plant Identification will be able
to prepare a genuine consecrated Orisa Aje Element. Most Orisa priests or priestess who claim to be
offering such service to people or unsuspected members of the public may actually be committing fraud.
But it is instructive to note that anybody who have access to this current documentation and have sense
enough to read and understand it, will be able to consecrate a genuine Orisa Aje Element, this
documentation will eliminate fraud on the part of any Awo who want to make Orisa Aje element for their
client either now or in future.
Consecration Of Orisa Aje Element As Document By Babalawo Ojebode Ifaleke
The first step in consecration of Orisa Aje Element for a client, is that after the Babalawo in question
would have collected the money for the whole service from the prospective client in question who is in
need of the consecrated Aje Element. He will tell the client to supply his/her name and name of his/her
mother. For example Babalawo Ojebode Ifaleke Omo Ifayemisi ( Babalawo Ojebode Ifaleke son of
Ifayemisi .

The Babalawo will then use Opele(Ifa divination chain) or Ikin(sacred Ifa nuts) to make Ifa consultation to
ascertain the number of Eyo owo(cowries) Aje Olokun(sea shell) Owo irin (minted coins), number of
pigeon and snail and bottle of gin the Eleda (destiny) of the person in question will take for the Orisa Aje
to work with him or her.

It is instructive to note that this stage is usually very funny in the sense that the consultation can pick a
very few number of cowries or sea shells. With experience I have seen where the consultation will pick
just four cowries and four sea shells and four coins for a client. Don’t bother yourself about the numbers.
Whether it is plenty or small they are of equal strength, value and validity. It is not about the numbers, it is
about the strength.

Ewe Ela tutu(fresh leaves of Aclypha Wilkesiana)

Who is Esu Alaje

Esu Alaje: owns currency and wealth, lord of economic prosperity. This Esu circulates the
currency in the world that owns the financial movement. He works on the money and trade.
This Orisa helps with the buildup of wealth, avoids the decrease in economic growth. Esu
Alaje is an extremely supreme Orisa that anyone who truly desires wealth, economic
prosperity, growth maintenance of wealth must have in their possession. Esu Alaje is the
spiritual energy responsible for controlling wealth. And trade attracts economic growth,
prosperity over, any kind of currency that circles in the world anyone who consecrated Esu
Alaje. You can do it well you will never lack in any form of trade. Its role is to distribute the
strength of the Orisa Aje to its supporters. Esu Alaje: Has his own Bouzios as an altar, for
him being his address not being a common Esu. It says that Esu Alaje is the gratitude of
wealth and lord of those who seek this aid.

Divination Stories: There is the tradition that all stories have come from Ifa, the personifies
system of divination. “Everything that happens on Earth has happened in the sky be fore. So
Ifa and Esu can advise human being because they themselves have discovered how to meet
every possible situation in the sky.” There is no one stronger than Esu, expect the one that is
equal to God in all things. God’s power is greater than Esu’s power by far. Also Esu’s power
is greater than human’s. Heaven is not profitable for Esu, so the world is well for him.

Esu is the God who has access to Power – Ashe , the immanent power of creation which
the supreme being gives to the earth, and which can be possessed by some people. Esu
receives Power – Ashe when all the Deities journey to the supreme God to find out who is
the next most powerful. Each brings a huge sacrifice, carrying it on his or her head. But Eshu
consults the oracle before he goes, and finds that all he needs to bring is a bright red feather
set upright on his forehead. When the supreme being sees this he grants Eshu the Power of
Ashe, because Esu had shown his unwillingness to carry burdens, as well as his sensitivity
to the power of information.
