 In English the broken plural is not common for
example : ox : oxen – Foot : Feet
 But The broken plural Is very widely used In
Arabic. There are more than 20 patterns or scales

 In this kind of plural we add only “s” in the end of
the word
 In Arabic : There are 2 kinds of Sound plural:
Sound masculine plural and sound feminine
plural
 The Sound Plural is the plural form of a word in
which the word keeps its original form and is
simply extended
How we convert singular noun into sound
masculine plural
 In order to convert a singular masculine noun or
adjective to plural the following steps should be
taken:
 1-We use the sound masculine plural with the
masculine nouns in the singular case only
 2-The ‫تنوين‬in the end of the singular word will be
dropped
3-we add ‫ و َن‬at the end of the word if it is in a nominative
case and before this ‫ ون‬we put ٌ‫ ضمة‬in the last letter
of the singular word
4- we add ‫ين‬ َ at the end of the word in accusative case
or genitive case and before this ‫ ين‬we put ٌ‫ َكسرة‬in the
last letter of the singular word
